Anyone curious, please feel free to ask anything about double towing. We've pulled the Focus about 9,000 miles so far and love it.!! I'm sure George and Lisa and maybe Brad will add some info too.

I'll post a picture of our rig if my iPad allows it. Lol

I'm really thinking of getting a hauler bed to replace the pickup box. The box is never used for any kind of loose cargo but with the Roll n Lock cover is used for storage. A hauler bed would have built in storage compartments and also more than likely additional fuel and a big forward storage box. Not to mention great access to the hitch and no worries of bed clearance.

So ....... for any of you that have one, do you like it, and what would you change or add if you had it to do over ??

Brand and model appreciated !!

Thanks all !!

I understand about the weight limits. I am just curious about what some of you have learned about the different trucks out there.Likes and dislikes.

Looking for some wisdom as we are new to Fifth Wheels. We have been full timing for 15 years and are in a 45' tag axel motor home but are moving to a Fifth Wheel since we purchased a home and will probably only be traveling about six months of the year.
We are looking at the Redwood 3901MB with a Dry Weight of 14402 and GVW 17900. We are also looking at purchasing a Ford F-350 Diesel, 6.7L Diesel, 4x4, Crew Cab that has a hitch rating of 18,000 to tow. We have owned dual wheel Fords before and would prefer not to go dual wheels at this time.
We would greatly appreciate any observations or opinions on our plan before we make the move. We are currently in Ohio and will be heading to Florida next week to try and make this transition. Any and all thoughts would be very much appreciated.

We have enjoyed the last year + of our Redwood 390MB. We have been up and down the east coast from Florida to Maine. We have had a few little issues all resolved quickly by the dealer.

It seems the only thing we would like is a smoother ride on travel days. The panic on bridge approaches or bouncing on less than ideal roadways can make a quiet enjoyable travel day into an exhausting and sometimes draining day of travel. We have been through the hitch, checking levels, monitoring weights, inflating and deflating the donut.

In the quest for the perfect ride, my Christmas present to myself is a new MorRyde independent suspension set up. We already have disc breaks so it’s a simple project. Just waiting on the confirmed installation date

Joe D did a great job selling me on it. Even my dealer said, “if your going to keep it, IS is a good investment.” Here’s hoping it makes the southern migration a little smoother. Would love to here any other experiences.

We’ve now towed about 2000 miles and my assessment is that we are riding much more comfortably. Far less bounce and movement over the bridge joints. But it would appear to me the coach is not riding more comfortably. I have found many more screws that’s have backed out, and I feel like my slide motor issue was either caused or exaggerated by a less cushioned ride from the TrailAir.

Has anyone else noticed anything similar?
