TOPIC: FREE Membership in the ROG

FREE Membership in the ROG 4 years 1 week ago #1

Hello Everyone;
I like the idea very much of having a "FREE" membership and encouraging EVERYONE to hurry up and scoot over and join the FREE ROG Group. The more people we have participating, the better, especially in the forum.

I like the look of the KUNENA forum too.

Upon re-reading the post I did, it might look like I meant "Free Memberships for ever" but what I was referring to was the "Free Membership Option" that Ken created :-)

So really now there are 2 Free membership issues.

First, the free basic membership I created to replace the current free membership in the existing forum. This type of membership would allow access to all the "public" areas of the website, but not the paid member only areas. I don't see how we can ever charge for just access to the forum. That in my opinion needs to be a public service of the ROG.

Next would be to provide an incentive for people to come try the entire ROG website including the paid member only areas by giving them an introductory membership for free from now until sometime in the future say the end of the rally. My thought is this would give them a membership # as well as access to all areas of the website for a year, but no ROG paraphernalia.

At this point the way it stands as I understand it is we need to finalize the operating budget, determine how much of the initial cash we will/have used on start up expenses and determine what the real need is for more income at this time.

Just some more talking points
