With the votes being 10 for and 0 against I've gone ahead and created a category under General discussions for posting Suggestions for Redwood.

Thanks for your feedback.

Ken, One thing that bothers me on the new site is the "thread number". In most forums I participate in the numbers on the thread start with 1 and continue incrementing by 1 for the number of messages in the thread. Here it looks like the number displayed is the number of the message for the forum. In the message I tried to quote above we see #1139 where it is actually the third message in the thread.

Is this something under your control and could you change it?

No big deal I guess either way it just throws me when I click on the new messages and it shows such large numbers...

Keith,

That is not something under my (our) control. The message # is the key to the post and I agree it seems to by site wide.

As always I will keep this in mind as I manage the site to look for a configuration option and will look for that as updates come down the line.

Thanks for the feedback.

I agree with Kwire. Most, if not all, other forums number the posts in the thread. To me that is a lot more valuable than numbering of the whole forum.

Wow, I think I actually found the configuration option. How cool is that!

Way to go Ken. Thanks for finding and changing it. Much easier to see how many posts per thread.
