TOPIC: Rear support while parked for 2013 36RE

Rear support while parked for 2013 36RE 2 months 2 weeks ago #1

Has anyone added support to the rear or slide outs or main structure of the
living area of a 2013 36RE.

Using stabilizers of some sort at the frame on the rear or along the frame front to rear, if needed, would be fine, adding supports to the slides is not recommended.

That was my thought also. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Thanks

Several owners have used a TT Jack and mounted thru the Rear Receiver Hitch to put just a little extra stability to the rear.
Another thing for longer term stays, is to use blocks under the Jacks to limit their stroke. The shorter the stroke on the Jacks the more stable you'll be.

We have had our 2012 36RL for 5 years now. Soon after purchasing in 2014 I added Lippert electric stabilizing jacks just a few inches in front of the boat hitch. Added a mini breaker above the charger bar by the batteries and ran the wiring inside convulted ( snakeskin type wire loom ) tubing and ran to the area above the jacks in a weather resistant enclosed box. If I remember correctly there is approximately 14 feet of the coach hanging past the rear leveling jacks and motion from the wife upstairs or running the combo washer dryer shakes the rear of the coach. The addition of these jacks removed about 95% of the momement. Works well enough for us. The jacks are also tucked up above the height of the boat hitch so they do not become a new low point or drag point at the rear of the coach.

We had a set of the Lippert electric stabilizers on a previous 5th wheel and they worked well. We have the 39MB and experience the same stability issues so we installed a set of HD scissor jacks on the rear. I use a cordless drill rather than the hand crank, not as handy as the electric stabilizers but works for us. Whatever you use just install them so they are no lower than the rear hitch so they don’t become a drag hazard, don’t ask how I know! We also use the JT Strongarm stabilizers which help a great deal. Wife struggles with vertigo issues and with the washer in spin mode they really help.

I've got the same setup as Chris only in a manual version. It fits right in front of the hitch and mounts like it was designed for it. Don't use them every time but if we are going to be setup for more than a few days I do. As Chris said, it takes about 95% of the movement out.
