Use a Marine Tank and keep it in the back of the Truck.

What kind of generator do you have installed and how do you have the connection set up. How does the gas get pumped to the gen.

If you look at a toyhauler, I believe those are typically installed down on the I-beam so spills can spill directly to ground. You should actually be able to buy a properly vented tank and fill designed specifically for that.
