TOPIC: No auto level nor manual hydraulics

No auto level nor manual hydraulics 2 months 1 week ago #1

Ok my turn for a problem. Just backed into a camping site go to level up and hydraulics other than the front will not engage. Tried the manual override but still won’t engage. Hydraulic tank reads full.
Appreciate and advice. And thanks in advance.

Problem solved. Apparently front end was too low to start auto level. All good now.

Just like me, Allen! Every time so far I think I’m having a problem, there’s been a good logical reason it’s acting the way it is. We all learn something from this. Thanks!

Okay, while we're talking Level-Up and oddities, I'll throw out this story:
As many know we Blew a GY G114 on our way to the Rally. Used the Level-Up to lift the side with the blown tire. Got it off and the spare on and then tried to lower the RW back on the ground. Guess what: Level-Up says ERROR, angle to great and won't retract the jacks. Had a similar situation once before with the Front Jacks because of the slope of the site, but that time the front jacks were on blocks so was able to slide off the blocks. Well this time I had to jack up higher and put boards under the wheels to lessen the tilt of the RW, then just drove off the boards.
Asked the Lippert Level-Up Expert and was given this tit bit: In the case where the system errors out because of too great an angle, he said "Put it into Calibrate mode" then it ignores the tilt and will allow retraction of the jacks.
Now I haven't tried it see if it's true, but if not there is another work-around: Again put the system into Calibrate mode and tell the system that the strange angle/tilt you're sitting at is LEVEL. He said that would work, but you would have to eventually reset your level point. My question was "Why if sitting at that great of an angle does the system even let the jacks go down, but it does then just won't bring them back up.
Something to store into the memory banks in case you find yourself in a situation where the jacks refuse to retract because of the angle.

So true Paul, some times I just have to sit back and investigate proper options before pressing the “panic” button. We learn as we go and if we can’t figure it out we are blessed with other family that has had a experience like ours and are more than willing to help. Thanks to all.
