Me too, but this has been a real learning exercise, I will know how to take care of, maintain and repair the Schwintek slides going forward.

Before long I will be a Redwood Master Tech :)

Robert,
I know it's too late at this point, but did you happen to just unplug the controller & plug it back to reset it? I've done that to the controller, also a couple friends, for the jacks when they wouldn't work, don't know if it would work the same for the slides.
Our bedroom slide would be out in one side about 3" when we bought it & the guys at the service lived it up & synced it & it's worked great since.
I'm sure you know the sync procedure, but for those that don't, run the slide out about 3-4" then back in continue to hold the button for 3-5 seconds after it's in & repeat this 3-4 times each time holding the button after It's in then run it all the way out & hold the button 3-5 seconds after it's completely out. Each time you use the slide be sure the hold the button those few seconds after it stops moving.

Yep, since I removed the Left and Right side slide controllers and reversed places with them, they were unplugged for about 15 minutes while making the swap.

No difference, the Right Side still works good and the Left Side still does not.

Well I got my Left Front Living Room Schwintek slide fixed.

That was certainly a learning experience, but now I know exactly what to do next time when I have problems.

The left side of the Schwintek slide was stopping and dragging, I checked all connections, swapped slide controllers with the other slide, still the left side of the slide on the left side of the coach was stalling and stopping.
I pulled the motor out and it looked fine but I went ahead and got another motor from Lazy Days Parts counter (they had 5 in stock)
I installed the new motor (as Shane said earlier, it has a new style wiring connection) tested the slide and it did the same thing.
Ok, now what !!! I pulled the motor out of the right side of the slide, and sure enough it had a broken wire !
I installed the motor I had removed from the left side of the slide that looked ok and then tested the slide, it worked perfect.
It must have been the feedback was damaged on the right side motor and it was causing the left side motor to stop because it was so far out of sync.

The Schwintek Motor at Lazy Days was $198, but they had it in stock and now my slide works perfect.
I went ahead and ordered me a spare / backup motor from Amazon for $130 for the next time I have problems. (now that I have a spare / backup motor I will not have any more slide problems for a long time, I hope)

Robert, Sure glad you got your schwintek working properly. Wire that failed was probably part of the 'hall effect' sensor built into the motor. Amazing that they work at all sometimes considering the load put on them. Keep them lubed with the CRC spray and now that you will have a spare coming it will probably never fail again.

One of the things I was ok with on my FL floorplan, yes it does have Schwintek Slides on the front two slides but these are small very light weight slides (both my slides just have a sofa in them and they are not sleeper sofas, just regular innerspring sofas).
They have always worked flawlessly and have very little load on them so I was not expecting a motor failure, but a broken wire will cause the failure.

Well I have made two moves (breakdowns / setups) since my Schwintek Slide repairs, the slide has worked flawlessly :)

How do you get to the motors to change or lube them? Mine is working OK but I was going to lube at the motor/gear today as someone suggested. Couldn't get to the motor from either outside or inside? I do lube the gear way on the slide.

You can lube from the outside, have to bend the spray tube in a "U" to spray the mechanism that needs lube.

The newer models have a cutout in the inside so the motor can be removed without removing the slide hardware. I removed the holding screw from the outside, then removed the motor from the inside, after folding the seal back for access.

Lippert Video on how to lube the slide mechanism

Well it happened again, another Schwintek Motor failure on the same slide as the last failure.
Just the other motor this time, again the wires broke right at the Circuit Board where they connect.
This time I had a spare motor in my drawer of "Stuff" and I know more about replacing the motor.
Replaced the motor and now the slide works great again.

I think I will order a few spares also to have on hand and by any chance Rob would you have the part # handy?? I am feeling lazy tonight.

I think that's a good idea. Waiting for the part # and supplier.

Thanks!

Like you I have replaced both and now have 1 spare. The new motors have upgraded wireing so hopefully these ones will last

Does anybody know if Redwood used different models of motors in the Schwintek in wall slide systems? There is the 236575 300:1 motor and also the 287298 500:1 High Torque motor. Some of the slideout rooms are a lot heavier than others. The motors look very similar. Look at Lipperts page on this:
www.lci1.com/assets/content/support/comp...de_Out_Component.pdf
And here:

My motors have the 236575 part number printed on the side of them.
Since my first replacement was the front motor on the left side slide, I ordered the same motor to match the other side as a replacement so they would operate together.
Redwood may use the 500:1 motor on the larger slides but one of the factors in my purchase decision for the FL Floor Plan was the Schwintek operated Slides were small / lightweight slides that in my opinion should preform good.

My previous SOB 5th Wheel had the Schwintek Slide system on the small Bedroom Slide and the very large Main Kitchen / Entertainment Center Slide.
The Small Bedroom Schwintek Slide always worked flawlessly and the Large Kitchen / Entertainment Center Schwintek slide was always problematic, slow and a real PITA.

I do not have a problem with the Schwintek Slide system on a small lightweight slide but I not want the Schwintek Slide system on a large / heavy slide.
