Hello Everyone,

Looking for the best advice on replacing our front and rear awnings, as the fabric seems to have become brittle and will not close or open properly. When last in for tune up, all motor functions where working, they state the fabric would need to be replaced.

For goodness sake, you have a new unit which should still be under the two-year warranty. If the fabric has gone bad then ask redwood to replace it under warranty. My awning went bad after the first year because the awning arms were misaligned on the body of the RV. They stressed the fabric and caused it to develop hairline cracks. If you have hairline cracks in the fabric then maybe the problem is with the awning installation.

I guess that is where I was wrong, didn't realized I had two-year, thought only one-year for stuff like that. But GREAT advice I will contact Redwood and see what we can make happen. Thank you very much!

NOT TO MENTION....
IF for some STRANGE reason your dealer and or Redwood pushes you aside, even though they have no right to do that to an owner of a 2017.. unless they are saying it was misused somehow...

Carefree of Colorado is fantastic to work with.. My coach is out of warranty and I sent pics to them stating the fabric was wrinkled real bad when rolled out.. They looked at the pictures and offered to send the same fabric as replacement as “Good Faith”..

Our MB is now three years old and has been used almost continuously the entire time with the awnings deployed much of the time and they still look great, although they are due for a good cleaning.

Speaking of cleaning the awnings..............whats the best way to clean them? I would like to try some type of spray cleaner and then use my power washer at low pressure to rinse off the awning. Has anyone found a good cleaner?

I wonder if that depends on whether we're trying to clean off ordinary dirt or maybe mold. Haven't found anything that will touch the mold yet.

The best thing I've found is Simple Green concentrate mixed stronger than recommended using a 1 gallon pump up sprayer spray top/bottom as best you can, roll it up for 10-20 minutes, unroll & scrub with medium bristle brush & Dawn dish soap & water, then rinse with your pressure washer.

I use the Black Streak remover sold at Walmart and a soft bristle brush. Works great for me.
