Also found this on another website...

I have covered the shroud with the aluminum wrap, but this individual covered the inner box. It looks like a good idea...

Might be a good idea. I wonder if they noticed an improvement after installation?

I installed this wrap on my A/C units quite some time ago, IMHO it could not hurt the A/C performance
