easy job , first check from the center of the discharge pipe to the wall, you need 10 1/2" + clearance. there is about 1 1/2" difference in the overall size of the 320 compared to the theford. In my install the theford was off the wall by about 1" and the 320 is pushing the wall in about 1/4". you will need about 2"longer on the fresh water feed , in my case I was able to pull it out of the Basement. on a scale of 1-5 for difficulty this was a 2.5 . fairly easy and quick.
Inverter and batteries | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Jim | Urgent Assistance Required
I do not have a generator. It maybe electrical panel battery charger that could be it. Maybe it is not kicking on as my batteries are now charged. I can just remember the slight sound that would come from under my entry closet so I am guessing it was in the Basement behind the wall .
Inverter and batteries | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Jim | Urgent Assistance Required
We just bought 2 new batteries and inverter in Basement is running hot and has an electrical odor coming from it. It's a Magnum inverter and we are not sure what the problem is. Tried to Google info but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas. We unhooked the batteries. We are afraid to leave it run.
Factory Suburban igniter boards suck! | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Jim | Utilities: Plumbing, Electrical and Propane
... Electronics ignitor boards are universal and work in most manufacturers appliances but they do come in two sizes (UIB S and UIB L). The board that was installed in my furnace was the exact same size as the factory board and just slipped right into the circuit board slot. I'm going to attempt the installation of the new water heater board myself (if I can get my fat butt squeezed into that tight Basement). I had heard the board is taped to the outside of the water heater but I'm assuming it has a cover or something. Can anyone confirm this? They do hav ...

You'll have to remove a couple dozen screws & remove a portion the Basement wall in order to get to the back side of your breaker panel, if you're my size it won't be fun, in order to wire up the surge protector. I believe the picture is the router/control panel (whatever it might be called) for the remote operation of everything from the IPad looking doodad, not the energy management.

I had the dealer install a Surgeguard unit on the rear bulkhead of the battery compartment - just behind and above the batteries. I think the install may depend on whether you have a gen prep package or not, our unit didn't have the prep package so I would have to crawl into the Basement to get to the electrical box.
Plywood thickness | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Danny_and_Linda | General Exterior
Our inverter is located in the Basement, I want to mount a fire extinguisher next to it and don’t want to put a screw into the transfer switch or anything else mounted on the battery compartment side of that wall. Does anyone know the thickness of the plywood? On my '13 I drilled a hole for a cord from the battery compartment into the garage & it was 3/8-1/2" OSB on the garage side mounted to 1 1/2 to 2" aluminum studs with only the fabric on the battery side. Hope this helps!

Battery Charg | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Jim | Utilities: Plumbing, Electrical and Propane
OK, the 1000 watt inverter used in some of the RWs, like our '16MB is more than enough for the fridge as it only draws approx an amp when running on AC and 11 amps from the batteries when running on the inverter. I currently have a Dometic Portable Freezer in the Basement that I've wired into the inverter and still have plenty of juice left. Again, our inverter, the Magnum model has a built in transfer switch, so once it detects shore power it passes it to the fridge and puts the inverter section into standby and turns on the charger section. Both it and t ...

I've shuffled the wiring at the circuit breaker block on the Basement wall in front of the batteries so that when the disconnect switch is in the off position the batteries are completely disconnected. As originally wired, there are a few items that bypass the disconnect switch (CO detector and hydraulic panel come to mind). As originally wired if you turn the disconnect switch to off the batteries will discharge (and up here in the north they will freeze over the winter).
Leaking slides while running in the rain | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Jim | Slideouts, Toppers and Awnings
... I would propose that maybe they are not in all the way. That would leave one gap. Maybe the front is lose and the back is tight. If you need instruction on adjusting your slides, let us know. Where is the water coming in? You may actually have a roof leak of some kind instead. Are all of your caulk joints good? Take a real good look. I just bought some non-marking chisels (which work great) and as soon as it cools off, I'll be replacing all of those caulk seals. Have you checked you baggage compartment seals? I had a leak there once but lucky for me, I c ...
Motorhomes - Ever thought about one? | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Jim | The RV Lifestyle
... by other companies. I loved this coach but I would never own another Class A diesel motorcoach WITHOUT some kind of extended warranty protection. There are pros an cons for both motorhomes and fifth-wheels. I miss the ease of driving and maneuverability of the motorhome when towing my Jeep. The Class A was easier to drive/maneuver and offered a more comfortable ride. Storage space was also much better in the Class A due to all the Basement storage. For the fiver I like that all the interior space is usable as you lose a couple of feet in the Class A d ...
