Portable Air | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | Anonymous | Towing
I carry a Porter Cable "donut" style 165 psi portable compressor in the RW, it comes with an air line long enough to reach the tires if the compressor is plugged into outlets on the front of the RW. It fits easily in the Basement. Got it at Home Depot If I need to use it on the road I can fire up the genny. It takes a while to bring up the G rated tires to pressure. It's also handy to have around the house running brad nailers.

Shane, That Coleman is probably going to be the thermoelectric. I have one of those somewhere. It never did what I though it should. The compressor type like this Dometic should perform as well as that small fridge you put in the Basement of your Redwood. I also found Dometic also makes a dual compartment that will freeze and refrigerate (CFX series), but they would not fit on the Mor-Ryde side pull tray so it was no real use for what I was thinking.

On our 36RL, there was just enough room to do a Dometic CF-50 using a Mor-Ryde freezer tray, and still have 2/3 of the cabinet width to access the rest of the Basement. I bought the stuff over the winter, but never installed it before we traded. The CF-50 ran on 12V or 110V and automatically changed over to 110V when available, or back to 12V when not available. It's a compressor type unit, so far more effective than the thermoelectric stuff that hit the markets hard a few years back. The CF-50 can serve as a freezer for extra freezer space, or refrigera ...

Carl When I 1st installed it I unscrewed the Basement wall and plugged it in to the plug behind it that the vacuum cannister plugs into. The only problem there is no power to the outlet while travelling
Relay in Awning Control | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | Anonymous | Slideouts, Toppers and Awnings
I don't have an direct experience but a neighbour with a Carefree awning had a similar experience to yours. He had no power to the awning when he pushed the buttons but his awning worked when he used the connector as you did. He found a bad connection behind the switch in the cabinet that controls the awning. Not sure if it was a Marr (wire nut) problem or not. I would start there by pulling out the switch and looking behind. To my knowledge there is no relay. If you have a switch in the Basement I would look there too.
Awning switch wiring | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | Jim | Slideouts, Toppers and Awnings
During the recent installation of my inverter, part of the process required to remove the rear Basement storage wall (where the vacuum is installed). Our two awnings extend/retract switches are located here. In all the jostling around some of the wires came loose, so I removed the wall piece altogether. I think I may have not written down the wiring color codes and where they go, so I was wondering if anyone here has written down the color codes for them. I have the 2nd awning so there are two switches. Help, please. I called RW customer service and th ...

We've got the '13 FB & really like the floor plan. Being it's a '12 The previous owner surely for all the bugs worked out, but check the bottom shower track caulking & the bedroom heater duct work in the Basement to be sure it hasn't fallen. Enjoy the new to you RW.
Furniture in 2016 38RL | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | Jim | Full Time Living
Well said. We have kicked around full timing in our 2013 Redwood however we do love our custom built home (now approaching 10 years old). Going from 3,400 square feet (includes walkout Basement) and about 3/4 acre beautifully maintained yard (it's that way as I leave the yard to professionals) to a couple of hundred square feet keeps the conversion going. Like you, we have spent untold money on decorating and maintaining our home and yard. Going full time and using that money for travel and RV'ing is almost a daily brief conversion as we sit on our front por ...
Furniture in 2016 38RL | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | Anonymous | Full Time Living
We just bought a 2016 Redwood 38RL to live in full-time. It is a HUGE step after living in our home 38 years. While the house was a modest size older home in a small town, going from about 1,800 sq ft plus full concrete Basement and small garage and a beautifully landscaped yard to a 38' fifth wheel has been an adjustment. Our daughter and son-in-law invited us to live on their 4.5 acre property where they are currently building a new home. They poured a concrete pad for each of our trailers, and they are living in theirs with our two small grandsons while ...
Compartment Locks | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | Jim | General Exterior
... that the Styrofoam doors are as weak as they are, if I were criminally minded, I wouldn't bother with the locks. I would just use a pocket knife and cut my way in. Or, I would just use a foot and kick it in. It wouldn't take much. It seems that campgrounds are relatively safe (for the most part) as many RV'rs look out for each other. But go to an isolated campground in the fall or winter, it could be a different story. I don't have the answer here but by installing some kind of metal plate guard in the front and some kind of metal plate in the rear, it see ...
Help for New Sequoia Owner | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | Anonymous | Urgent Assistance Required
Met a couple in Joliet IL with a brand new Sequioa they bought from Tiara one month ago. They have issues with trim falling off, bedroom AC does not work and Basement flooded in a rain storm. They are full timers... husband is a heavy equipment operator on a pipeline job working 6 days a week. They have called Tiara several times to try to get things looked at. Were told AC would be looked at in 2-3 months. I gave them the Redwood Customer Support number and wife called yesterday to try and get some help. She was told to come to the Service Center... they ...
Balancing hot air ducts | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | Danny_and_Linda | Utilities: Heating and Ventilation
... touch. Did disconnect one tube and run it to a new vent under the stairs, but the Basement still runs hotter. RW stated that is the way it is to work. When opening the underbelly door it's like opening an oven. Sounds like mine, the bedroom furnace duct had came loose & fell over & was keeping the underbelly nice & toasty as well as the bathroom/shower floor. Heated air & duct tape don't hold well hanging up to the floor hoist. I cut 3 pieces of aluminum strap & sealed it & Used self taping screws to reattach it.

I'm glad someone has good luck with the heating system. We did the same thing for all our vents, however did not solve our problem. Thw under belly area is always 15 to 20 degrees hotter than the living area. The interior walls in the bathroom and front entrance area are hot to the touch. Our Basement is about the same size as I've got the same junk in there, but for whatever reason RW did away with the shelves on the front bulkhead so I made my own since I kept the net from our RL. I don't think the slide-in-a-slide is an option on the MB, but the MB bedroom slide extends out further than other models, approx 30" compared to our RL at 24".
