Why won't frig freezer in 2012 36RL not freeze food for several days on top shelf & items in front bottom or in doors? If frozen will thaw everything in these areas when new items are added!
I try to leave space on sides & top for circulation...still does it!? Ty

Debbie -

In my 2015 38FL I had a similar problem with my Norcold. The left freezer would never make ice, and the right one would but in about 2 days.

It turned out that there was no insolation on either side behind the Norcold, so the hot air that should have been going outside was actually just circulating around the fridge.

Not sure if you have a Norcold or Residential, but perhaps you may have the same issue. After having the fridge removed and insolation installed as per Redwood's specs the problem was resolved and the Norcold worked much better.

The Norcold in our '12 36RL would never keep Ice Cream firm. It would freeze Ice Cubes but only averaged upper teens to low 20s for freezer temps. Fridge section did fine set on 5, much higher and things would freeze in the fridge compartment.

check temps behind frig, 130 plus in summer heat

outside vents cooling fans in back not working? replace cheap at frys or amazon, to hot in the enclosure

im adding extra 4 3 inch or 4 inch fans 12 v building some mounting brackets i see a basic kit on ebay for this too which u can build also

these r just 12 volt cooling fans and a creative person could build and wire up this setup
solder iron solder heat shrink 2 conducter wire a meter, a 3 pole switch and thermostat

im thinking of pulling out fri gbuild a little platform and slide it forward after and i can work on it disconnecting lines and replace my ice maker lines also and seeing if i can put or glue some foil faced insulation board in the enclosure too and reseal it cabinet beside frig r to warm and above also

i think 3 inch fans r failing 2 or them on 1210 norcold will get new ones soon gathering parts now need the time to do this project
