I am brand new to the group, for the last 17 years I have been living aboard a 41' Mainship and have decided it was time to come ashore. we are about to pick-up our new to us Redwood 40KB. I was looking at the post of the swap out of a norcold on a 38 and would like to know if anyone has done a swap with the 40KB. I know all too well about norcold and will be doing the swap and would like to know what I may be running into. any information you can pass my way would be great.
thank-you

I recently had my Norcold swapped out in my 38FL. A number of people posted on this threadabout how they did theirs.

Ken,
yes, I watched with great interest... was just wondering if there is anything behind or in the way that might cause me to get a headache on the 40KB 🙂

There were some cables under the bottom draw that was removed. They were easily relocated and secured to the back and side out of the way.

Ken,
what do you do for ice, you go the old fashion way with ice cube trays?

Counter top ice maker. Picked up a Lowe's for <$100.

I store it away when not in use. It will make 2 gallon sized ziplock bags worth of ice in about 4 hours. That's enough for me for a week or more.
