We have our first residential fridge, and not sure the best way to go forward...

We ARE NOT FULLTIMERS, we go out every few weekends, and there are times that we would like to keep the fridge on instead of emptying it out.

Our concern is that without the AC on, the inside temps in the RV are always right around 95-99?? Will this hurt the newer residential fridges? Since there are no outside vents, the fridge vents into the rv.. IS this too hot>??

Joe - I'm thinking you're probably ok, but if it was me I would contact either the manufacturer tech support or possibly an appliance repair that's good. If it was me, I'd probably leave the roof vents open if you have covers on them and also a couple of the swingout windows and then a box fan on the floor to move air.
I know when ours was in the storage lot with no shade, I would leave it like I described above only with out the fan and even on a 95-98 degree day it would be probably 10 degrees cooler in the unit.

Thanks Gregg,

The fridge would be running off the AC power, as I have a 50amp shore plug next to the trailer.. The Inverter only is used once I unplug from it.. As far as the fins, that is the area that I am concerned about, there is no way for me to even check that area, I would have to lift up the fridge in the front and get it over the lip just to move it a bit..

Joe
I wouldn't worry about it. My garage fridge in a detached garage gets up to 110 degrees and have had no issues in the last 10 yrs
