When disconnecting from shore power what is the proper way to turn on the inverter to my residential Refrigerator, before disconnecting shore power or after ? I have been told both ways by dealers so now I am really not sure.

Thanks.

It has been my understanding that your power inverter has an automatic transfer switch. That means that if your coach is connected to shore power, your refrigerator operates from shore power. When your coach is not connected to shore power, the inverter should automatically switch over internally and supply its generated AC voltage to the refrigerator.

Check your inverter manual. There may be a mode switch that you need to set for the automatic operation to occur.

Hope this helps.

Ditto Shane's reply. We have never turned our inverter off. We're either plugged in, on the road, or an Overnite stop with out power.

never touched mine either. test it out. shut off shore power at the breaker, then go into coach and open the refrigerator door. Are the lights on? then your good. if not then open the manual.
