We have a Residential Samsung refrigerator. It worked fine for a year or so. Now the temperature is all over the place. The freezer over freezes causing the refrigerator temperature to run warmer. We have a short term fix for it that gets it all back on track, but we would like to stop "fixing". It is definitely past warranty.

Curious if anyone has replaced their refrigerator and found one that fits well that they are happy with?

We have a Whirlpool residential and are very happy with it. I think it is a replacement as our hand-written build sheet shows a Norcold, but was in our RW when we bought it. Been looking for a model number and can't easily find it right now. My guess is that if you pull the doors off you can get it out and away from the island and through the door.

The beauty of a residential fridge is you can have any appliance repair folks come look at it. Maybe something easy? (fingers crossed). My last fridge repair (garage) was a defroster module that quit, causing frost to build up in the walls. The freezer would freeze, the fridge was warm on top but would freeze at the bottom. All was because the ice stopped the airflow.

We were able to do a temporary repair on the refrigerator--but this is definitely not a long term solution.

We had an RV mobile repair out (for an inverter death) and he, of course, couldn't do anything about the residential refrigerator. We are having an awful time getting a regular appliance repair to even come look at the refrig. Not sure what our next plan should be. Our extended warranty has been great, they said they will replace refrigerator if we can get a tech to say it needs to be replaced.

Now I am having trouble finding a refrigerator that will fit in the opening. If Redwood had just made the space 4" wider a standard refrig. would fit. :S

Does anyone have the model # for the Whirlpool that is currently being put in RW? Needs to be counter depth and 32" wide.

Lisa,
We just bought a Samsung RF18 from Lowes. It's suppose to fit the opening (sacrificing a drawer underneath).
It's also suppose to clear the island when slides are brought in. We've got our fingers crossed.

We installed the Samsung fridge and it didn't quite clear the island. Our dealer who installed it said they moved the island slightly. The dealer did a beautiful job, looks like it was there from the get go.

I am not sure, but I cannot believe that the fridge would NOT fit through the door AFTER the 3 doors are removed from the fridge? They are not a HUGE fridge....

Lisa, we replaced our Nevercold with the Samsung RF 18. I can measure ours tomorrow but it was same width as the Norcold. Will fit through door with doors and drawer removed.
It cleared our island after I made sure that everything behind it was rerouted. There were a couple of wire runs and a molding in the way. Cleared the island by about 1".
