We have a 2 door fridge & bottom drawer freezer. For the last month we have water gathering at the bottom of our fridge & in our fruit/veg drawers that at times even freezes....we have tried varying temps and rearranging foodstuffs in the fridge....nothing works....anyone else having this problem?
Water in the fridge is a sign of hot air coming in contact with cold air. Either it is being opened alot or there could be a leak on the sealing surface of the door. Another remote possibility is the freezer (colder section), is leaking into the fridge (warmer). The dewpoint of the air is the key. The warmer the temperature the more water it contains. It doesn't matter if it is cold air to begin with, colder air can condense water out of it.
You also can't put really hot things in the fridge for the same reason. It will bring the temp of the fridge up and then as it cools down again water will condense out of the air.
I used to have an older Norcold that used to have that... I found that the drain tube in the drip pan would sometimes clog up.... locate that tube and check to see if it is clogged... Or a large build up of ice in the drain pan could also be the culprit...
I hope it is that easy for you . .
Joe, I think it's a residential frig they're talking about with freezer on bottom, no drain tube.
