Joe, do you recall if they were the "made in China" G614? I think they stopped doing that.

Brad ,

They were American made with a date code of 2008. . . It was in June of 2012.. no damage to the SOB. ..other than some minor tin work that I did myself

The first was drivers side rear.. the second was passenger side front.... The second one blew the tread off and was still holding air , it was 95 psi when we removed it..

You lucked out Joe! That 55 lb G614 can really do some damage usually, compared to those Marathons.

I did Brad...

I stayed the night at the cracker barrel that we limped to for.. The tow truck driver told me about a good tire shop not too far away..

I called them the next morning and found out they had 3 in stock ,I purchased all 4, I put 3 on the coach, and a new spare for me !

The best part was that he charged me almost the same as my home dealer ,so I was thrilled that my eyes were not getting gauged out !

I drove a bolt right through the sidewall of one of mine turning in an unpaved field. I paid a premium.

Funny thing was - I called he had 4 in stock. When I got there he laughed and said I wasn't going to believe it - a rancher gal came in and needed 12 of them. Her brand spanking new 3 axle horse trailers she bought at the stock show looked pretty, but when she put horses in them the fenders cut through the sidewalls of the tires. A bit of an oversight in design there 🙂 She cut the fenders off with a K-12 saw so she could get her horses back home and said she would deal with the trailer company later. She and I had to wait a day to get more in because she already had the 4 mounted up. No worries, we were camped at the lake anyway and I was on the spare.

Anything within a 1/2" overall diameter is close when you consider you have differences in tread depth of that much or more. On most Redwoods the difference in rolling circumference between the left side and right side tires will be that much because of the load on the left side of our trailers.

Except for us FL guys, the FL's are almost balanced left to right due to the layout 🙂

Rick,

From the presentations at the last rally, I recall the H tires require 125 psi for maximum load.

125 is the max inflation but if you use independent actual weight of each tire, you could easily vary those numbers. See other blog posting for discussion about this. For ease...I do use 125 max on all tires. Its a lot of work to calculate each tire and I don't know what you really gain from it...

You would gain a huge headache calculating/worrying about which had how much & trying to remember it all, go with 125psi & call it good.

I started with 125 but the trailer seemed to ride kind of stiffly. Reduced it to 110 which is sufficient for the weight I'm carrying and the ride is definitely smoother.
