I have a 2017 39MB that I bought new last October. I am now on a trip up north in Ohio from Florida, and on my way to the ROG rally soon. Friend of mine following me told me that my trailer is sagging on the driver side, so I crawled under the ubit today and found that both springs on that side have a bent top leaf. The CRE 3000 also appears to be pushing the cushions rubbers in all the way and the shackle if hitting the side.It seems like there is to much weight on that side of the unit with that big Refrigerator on that side. I weighted the trailer as loaded for my travels and the axles have 13,780 on the scales for the trailer axle. 220 lbs. Below the limit, but who knows what the left to right weight is. I only have 7K suspension. Since the unit is only 8 months old what options do any of you suggest? Spending Thousands on MorRyde IS after just buying this unit does not fit in my budget, but I fear what is going to happen to my unit. I called Lippert today and had to leave a message and have not heard back yet!! Any thoughts are appreciated. Love all the discussion that comes out of this forum. Can't wait to meet some of you at the Rally.
Good morning David,
First off, I am sorry about the sagging spring issue you are facing, I am sure it will get handled properly.
Second, NOW IS THE BEST time to fix that issue, and never think about it again.. That is because you will be at the rally, get the IS... I KNOW it is a large expense, but the piece of mind it gives you is priceless..
You COULD save money and upgrade to an 8K axle and spring kit, but you still have the buggy cart ride behind you.. There have been a few folks that had springs break on them, shackle bushings fail, ect... Take ALL THE WORRY OUT of your travels.
It took me some time to talk my wife into the IS on our previous fiver, as she did not see the NEED for it and it was a waste of good money..
When we were looking at Redwood, her FIRST question was "does it have the IS" when we saw it didn't, she said, "how soon can we get that on there" ?? 🙂 YES, it really does make that large of a difference in ride quality, and piece of mind
*** AT VERY LEAST- upgrade to the 8K axles and springs if your running at just under 14k over the axles
Joe
Yep, MBs can be heavy. Ours left the Factory at just under 16K Empty. We're running close to 16K on the axles now, but we had the 8K IS added prior to delivery.

David, first welcome to new ownership of a Redwood. Scotty to hear about your problems, but like many of us who have experienced the same issues. We own a 2015 39MB2. In the past 6 months we have had to replace both spring assemblies on the passenger side of our unit. Costing about $1,000.00 since we had to have repairs out on the road. Of course after warranty is expired.
We have 7,000 lb axles, and the sticker on the door shows empty weight at 14,196 lbs without our additions. Called corporate and Lippert, aside of course was told it is legal because of weight that applies to the hitch. They also asked me if we put too much weight on that side. Funny, because that side houses the dining table and 2 recliners not much space available for weight additions. (Sad in my opinion).
A little more info...2 weeks ago prior to leaving our camping spot, noticed the passenger left rear tire was half flat, called repair company, removed tire and noticed second springs broken. Got home late last week after repairs, took flat tire to BigO tires to swap spare to decorative rim. BigO called and told me the RIM had a fine crack that was allowing the air to escape instead of the tire.
So all of us with the 7,000 lb axles and springs need to be fully prepared to watch for breaks and be ready to fork out money over over and over because our units were constructed with just heavy enough to drive it from he lot. Completely frustrating!!!
PS as you will find from other posts and my finding this week...The tires and rims are also needing to be upgraded.
Sorry to go on and on, just very frustrated that corporate knows of many owners having the same problems, but offer no help after warranty expires.
We plan to upgrade our unit with MorRyde IS, Disk Brakes, Tires and Wheels. Total out of pocket over $8,000.00.
Good luck on your unit.
Allen
So here is what happened to us this morning. We left Indian Lakes Campground in Batesville, IN yesterday at noon and traveled up I-74 to Indianapolis then up Hwy 31 to Hwy 30 in South Bend then into Elkhart to the Mor/ryde sterling plant to have our IS installed. We parked for the evening and got up before the crack of dawn and was greeted at 6am by Brian and instructed to drive to a location in front of the repair bay to get measured. At this point Sergio greeted us and started measuring the undercarriage and called us over to the passenger side of the Rv and pointed out a broken wet bolt that attached the rear spring to the chassis of the Rv. The spring was free floating and had bent the support bracket. Part of the bolt was still in the bracket. Sergio knew right away it was a Mor-ryde bolt that had failed. The space usually is about 3 inches between tires mine on the passenger side was 1/2 in. This could have been Catastrophic if the tires had come together. It possible could have flipped us at highway speed. There is no telling when it happened or when but indications were it was probable when we entered town because the wear pattern on the spring shows only a little rubbing on the metal. But there was an ANGEL riding with us yesterday. The IS is welded in place and they will finish it tomorrow.

WOW you were lucky ! ! you have to love when a Angel is watching !
Kenneth and Donna, so happy God was watching over you on your trip. Glad you made it without additional damage. Look forward to seeing you in a few weeks at the rally. Sounds like we can share horror stories. I'm sure there will be plenty of owners willing to listen.
Be safe

Glad to hear all is ok. And say hi to Sergio for me ! He did our IS five years ago and has seen the coach every year since for an annual maintenance check. He and his staff are as good as it gets.
Doing the IS and discs and MorRyde pinbox was the best money spent for ride, handling and peace of mind. We have over 42k miles on the suspension so far.
I did us the scale to segmented. Here is exactly what it weighted.
Hooked up and mostly loaded with propane and 1/3 water. Empty Grey or Black tanks.
Steer Axle 4780
Rear axle 6840
Trailer 13780
The unhooked truck and put trailer on one segment and truck on other 2. Here is readings
Steer 5000
Rear 3980
Trailer 16420
Factory weight sticker was 14,824
As you point out I wish I could get just driver and passenger side weights. I be that driver side is over the axle limit, which should be 3500# per tire max.
They must know this since the new units now hae 8K axles and really no additional equipment on the 2019 over mine
I do have G rated tires 14 ply rating with load of 4080 lbs at 110 psi
You bring up very logical information that I need to really think about.
I think my tires are good with the load rating they have.
May just see if they can use 8K springs to get me by.
It is ashame they build this unit so close to maximum specs.
Hi, If I am reading your weights correctly you are running at about a 16% pin weight (2640/16420) which many consider a bit light. Anyway... you may be able to move more of your belongings forward to increase the pin weight and help decrease the axle weight on the trailer a bit. It appears in the pictures you are running a dually so I doubt you are even near the GVWR with only a 2640 pin weight. Food for thought...
David
I have had our 36RL tires weighed individually and our drivers side is 700lbs heavier. Last weigh I was 17200

Interesting discussion on weight. I too have not been able to weigh driver vs passenger side but am sure driver side is much heavier - all appliances, W/D, kitchen storage.
Ken, I’ve read about the MoRyde wet bolts shearing on the Montana forum. Seems like it happens more frequently than we would like to see.
Our rig was very heavy when we first started full timing and the 3.5k leaf springs flattened out. With the knowledge of Ron (Titanguy) I replaced all four 3500 lb springs with 4000 lb and new Dexter shackles, bolts, and EZ Flex equalizers, and so far with about 15,000 miles everything is good. I’ve thought about going with IS but for the expense I’m not sure I would have too much better than I’ve got now. That opinion could change any day 🙂
Paul - probably the biggest thing the IS does is take any concern about springs, bolts, equalizers, etc totally out of the equation. There aren't any after the change. The difference in handling of th total rig is hard to describe unless you felt it. Suffice to say it's remarkable. In my case the change was really good when I had the Reese Elite hitch and after we switched to a MorRyde pinbox and the Comfort Ride Hitch, it's amazing. The entire rig feels like it's on solid unit. There should be a mark day better ride for th stuff in the coach. I know in ours, unless I've been down some really rotten roads, even the coffeemaker on th counter doesn't move around much and all the stuff in the medicine cabinet is still there and you don't have to get ready to catch as you open it when stopped.
As of right now, we have almost 40k miles on the IS with zero problems.
