Goodyear Engineering Data,

OK, for all of those "Engineering" types who want to really know Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly tires... Here is the Engineering Technical Manual (see below). It's 64 pages of pure heavenly information about tires, valve stems (that's right. I bet you have not thought about the valve stem rating when moving up to the H rated tires) and much more.

See the following pages for:

41,42,43 Tire Info
44 Load Ratings
49 Service Descriptions
50 Approved Rim Types
52 Valve Stems
62 Ply Ratings

I made several calls to Goodyear. The first few were failures to get the right people on the line. The last 2 were very helpful.

If you want information about RV tires, go to www.goodyeartrucktires.com

Here is the link to the Engineering Technical Data:

Here is a link to truck tires:

Speaking with Goodyear by telephone, they offered the following differences between the G614 RST and the G114 LHT:

235/85R16 - G Rated - 14 Ply - Speed Rating 75 MPH - Load 3,750 lb. - The Sidewall has 3 belts. Tread Depth = 12/32" - Weight = 58 lbs. - Max Air = 110 lbs.

215/75R17.5 - H Rated - 16 Ply - Speed Rating 75 MPH - Load 4,850 lb - The sidewall has 4 belts. Tread Depth = 16/32" (1/2") - Weight = 62 lbs. - Max Air = 125 lbs.

The one person I spoke with at the commercial center understands that both tires are 2 Ply on the sidewall. 14 or 16 Ply respectfully on the treads.

Here is the telephone number for the RV Center if you want tire information: 800 782-7949

The 17.5 here in Fort Worth sells at the truck center for $303 + mount/balance and stem (another $40). They are at 33 Dooling Street in Fort Worth, Texas (817) 740-8609. As of today, they had 8 in stock.

Now...Who wants to do the leg work and find out about Michelin tires?

Wish we could...We have alternate plans at the moment.

We're thinking next year for sure.
