Well, as discussed in the latest post, I'm about to change out the axles, tires, wheels, springs and adding disc brakes...

I need to raise the RV about 3"-4" as I have more weight on the rear tires than front.

In addition, I can tell that I'm downhill in the rear when looking at pictures.

Currently, I'm sitting at 13' 2". I know 13' 6" pushes a number of clearances.

Having said this, has anyone else had to raise the height of their RV over the axles?

By "changing out the axles", does that mean you're going to the Mor/ryde IS?? If so talk to the Techs at Mor/ryde when they are measureing your RW, as they add a "Sub Frame" to attached the IS too and could add one to bring you up level.
If not doing the IS, but simply changeing axles, how about adding Correct Track, I understand that will raise a unit a couple of inches.

Michelle, I believe you are right about the correct track system from Lippert. I believe Dave had them on his unit before he traded to his DP. I recall him saying that it does increase the height.

I will be changing from 7000# Lipperts to 8000# Lipperts. This will decrease the current capacity from 97% back down to 85%. I took the suggestions from others on the previous post and picked up Timken USA Bearings today. I could not find any kind of USA grease rings.

I'll also be adding 8000# springs for now.

No IS System. Too Pricey.

I have not heard of Correct Track. I'll check it out though.

I had though about adding a piece of 2" x 2" x 1/4" or 2" x 3" x 1/4" tube steel before re-attaching the axles. The 17.5 Tires and wheels will probably catch 1/2" to 1" from the G-rated tires.

You can see from this picture the high front end. By the time I add the air bags under the truck, it will compound matters. I will be installing a cattle guard on the front. That may help correct some of the pitch on the truck. I will also be adding a 109 Gallon Diesel tank, but that weight will be located more in the center of the truck.

I had one suggestion today about possibly installing the SRE4000's. That may give 2" of lift? I have to be careful adjusting too much...

Call me paranoid?

I installed Dexter double lip grease seals made in USA, together with the Timken bearings.

Gregg,

The Lippert Correct Track advertises that it will raise it by about 2". .. .. When MORryde installs the IS, they add a subframe when needed, that is just 1/4" wall tube to the height... either 2" or 3" .... I am sure you can just weld that on....If you know the height, I have 8 warehouses full of rectangular structural tube ! 🙂 i can always ship some UPS your way...

When you look at the bottom of the trailer you are not bad for level. My truck is a lot higher than yours and I have no issues. Centerpoint raised mine about 4 inches

The tale tell sign is when you are up close. You can see the difference. In addition, when I had it weighed, there were differences in front and back both sides. I can't think that is good on the tires.

Hum...I'll have to see if we have them here. Dexter just bought out Rockwell American. They are literally less than a half mile from here. Maybe they will stock them. I'll check tomorrow.
