Seems odd that a 16 ply tire would have such a low speed rating, but I'm no tire guru.
Yes it does. I know that the Westlake Gs I just took off (14 ply I think) were actually quite impressive. They were a good solid heavy tire similar to the Sailuns I put on. Much better tire than the D or E rated Westlakes. Tread showed no wear in over 25,000 miles, just some sidewalk cracking.
I spoke with Matt Popovic, the southeast Redwood rep. They are aware of the Speed rating and the tires come with a two year, no questions asked roadside service warranty.
I also spent quite a while researching the tires. And of all the H rated 215/75R17.5 tires on the market 75 or 80% of them have a Speed rating of 62. For me with the safety factor over and above the rating, I am fine running them for now.

My 2017 31SL came with G rated Westlakes manufactured in mid 2015. They only have about 2000 miles on them, like new tread, but they sat on the dealer's lot so long that the sidewalls are cracking. The Sailuns are tempting, but I think I'm going to replace them with the G rated Goodyear G114s.
My mistake...should have been G614
The Goodyear 114 is a H rated tire. G rated Goodyear is 614.
I wouldn't hesitate on the Sailuns, just put a set of H on my RL
I put a set of the H rated Sailuns on mine last Nov, have about 7-8k+ miles on them now & wouldn't hesitate to put them on again at this point. In my opinion I don't think the GY 114s would be 50-60% better tire as the price difference reflects, almost $200 per tire.

Oriana,
I was wondering if you heard anything back from your contact at Redwood about the lower than expected speed rating. Im not likely to change the brand new 17.5 H Rated Westlakes I have yet. But I would feel better if I knew what I should expect.
Thanks
John
John,
I am still following up with Redwood, but yes, I did get a response from their supplier confirming the lower speed rating. I have forwarded concerns to Redwood regarding the lower rating, but have not received any response to my follow up note.
Not sure why these were rated 62 mph but the Polyester body plies make this an inferior product to all other 215/75R17.5's that have an all steel construction that have steel body plies.
My guess is that the lawyers at Redwood will not allow them to comment because of legal liability.
I just found out from a friend that the Montana Owners Club influenced Keystone management to put Sailuns on the new Montanas. Maybe we can have the same effect?
