Got new tires on my 2017 31SL yesterday, and the tire shop rounded the points on several of the lug nuts. In looking at these, the chrome shell really looks pretty soft and cheap. Anyone had a problem with these? Any recommendations for better replacements?

My originals were the same, just a cover over the nut & easily damaged. When I upgraded to the 17" wheels/tires they came with good quaity, long chrome nuts. I'm sure you can find replacements at most any automotive parts store, but will be costly to replace all 32.

If you go onto Trailer Tires and Wheels website, and know your size they sell stock replacements and full Stainless replacements..

If they rounded the points on the Lug nut caps then they probably used a 12 point socket instead of a six-point socket. The same thing had happened to some of my lug nuts.

I was able to find good quality matching replacement lug nuts in the tire center of the local Costco store. The price was less than three dollars per nut. Take one of them nuts to the store to match up. They had many sizes available. They are an exact match.

If it's a reputable tire company they should replace them, at least the ones they damaged. I had tires rotated at Discount Tire & they damaged both front wheels with deep gouges.

Due the exorbitant price of new factory wheels ($808 each) we settled on 4 new aftermarket wheels, sorry no photos of the new ones, so both parties are satisfied.
