We're trying to get to the Rally and are seriously thinking about the MorRyde and disc brakes. We have plenty of, less than stellar, experience with OEM axles/springs/brakes, and would like to upgrade now while our 39MB is new. How does this affect the RW two year warranty, don't want to affect that.

Put it this way.... IF something goes wrong , I would rather deal with MORryde , than any other manufacturer , INCLUDING REDWOOD . .

They are a superior company , and their product will far out last the 2 year limited warranty given by Redwood. I will be there later this week getting mine installed...

I would not think twice about adding BOTH those upgrades... My Discs were added last year with the help from Ron/Titan Guy . . THANKS RON !

Joe I think though that installing the IS would probably invalidate the Redwood warranty because of the modification to the structural framework, just to answer the original question. I'm past caring at this point, and am going to get mine installed also. Just have to get it figured out how to get the 2200 miles each way done.

I agree Jim , BUT.... If something were to happen , they would have to prove that because of the addition of the IS , it failed.. at that point , MORRyde would assist...

I am with you.... the chance of that happening is far less then the chance of something happening IF no upgrades were done . .

Jim,

Perfect excuse to head back to Shipshewana again for this year's Rally. We need a representative from your state to complete the West Coast attendees. 🙂

What were we saying about "engineering" (the lack of) and "more regulations"?

We have talked about the 7K and 8K axels but guess I am just starting to look into options and not sure of this answer.
What is the IS rated for as far as weight?

Steve

Steve
They will weigh your trailer and install what is necessary for the weight. They have them on the Luxe and DRV which are running 20,000 lbs or heavier loaded

I received an email quote from MORryde today with pricing for both 7K and 8K from their service manager. I filled out a web request for this just before bed last night and the email was in my inbox when I got up this morning. That's a responsive business.

Steve -

I believe the 7k system is $2800.00 and the 8k system is $3300.00 , both RW rally pricing.... They will weigh the rig and place heavier rubber where needed to compensate.. . Check out thier add here on the 2016 RW rally info site , they have the different kits listed....

Steve, they make 7,8&9k units for the IS. My RL originally had 7k axles, when I did the IS I went to 8k.
As far as Redwoods warranty, like Joe said, they have to prove the IS did something. I decided very early that I wanted nothing to do with buggy springs and drums. Have now put more than 16k miles on the IS and Disc brakes without any issues whatsoever. Ride is great, hardly anything moves around, and a few days ago we did a 3 hour tow with 30-40 mph cross winds and the rig was steady as a rock.

Is it worth the $$$ - a resounding YES.

I'm scheduled for my IS install on Aug 3rd. Which means I won't be able to partake in the 2 repair items. On the other hand, With H Tires, Disk Brakes and IS Suspension, I will never have to worry about the undercarriage. I believe Morryde has a 5 year warranty.

Does anyone know which MorRyde facility does the install. There seems to be multiple locations in the area?

Scott, the main facility. 1966 Sterling Ave, Elkhart, IN. They have overnight parking with power for 5-6 coaches and the start at about 0530. Won't be a problem as the trains will keep you up anyhow !!

Expect a knock on your door by 6:30 saying they're ready for you. Absolutely great bunch of people and a great company to work with.

A nice little story about the expanding MorRyde complex. And the couple that lives right in the middle of it. At least they are taking care of these people, it shows that MorRyde cares.
