Redwood got new Dexter axles & springs yesterday. I went with 4,000 lb. springs on a 7k axle but has the wall thickness of an 8k axle with a 3" tube. Big advantage is you get the wall thickness of an 8k but still able to utilize the existing 7k braking system.

Did you have problems with the old ones or just upgrading

No real axle problem but have over 40,000 trouble free miles on the OE suspension and we are planning an Alaska trip in 2018. We did find a bent and cracked shackle bolt so got lucky.

That's great to know you had that much good luck with the stock equipment .. with you full timing, i am a bit surprised you didn't jump to 8K axles....

I could have gone to 8k for about the same money but really wanted to test the durability of the 7k heavy wall.

Looks good Ron,
Once you install the new axels and springs is an alignment needed?
