Ok gang , this is my first auto leveling system , so I am not 100% sure of it....

I pulled into a site in Ohio last night and did not realize that the front of the site was as low as it really was...

I in hooked and hit auto level... After doing a series of normal things , it looked perfect , then it beeped and stated it was out of stroke?? The front legs are extended all the way , and the camper feels stable , and level...

So , when I go to leave tonight , am I ok just to hit the right and left buttons as usual to return the camper back to hitch night , or do I have to do something special since it is out of stroke >?

Joe

I had the same happen to me in Bristol Tennessee. With the help of our fearless leader, Chuck, we figured it out even when the technician couldn't. What I suggest doing if to remove all power for a few minutes including the battery. then turn it back on and it has reset to a normal. I hit auto and it worked fine. Hope this tidbit helps. Safe travels!

I have hit the "out of stroke" messages before. I don't know of the the RW will return to the hitch position or not, I don't use that function as I'm uncomfortable with the shaking that goes on when you use it, I go to manual then I raise the rear jacks then lower or raise the front jacks to match the hitch height.

I also carry some 2X8's and put them under the jacks if I suspect I will be out of stroke, it takes 3 of them to get the front almost to level in our driveway. I've also hit campsites where the wheels are off the ground due to side-by-side level issues, its always good to put boards under the wheels to give some more stability (prevent trailer movement).

Thanks to you both . .

Since the menue screen showed " hit enter to confirm" I did that , after it said " level/jacks down" I think I may be ok...

I have 4-6 pieces of 4"x6" X 8" wood that I carry with me just in case.... I was in a hurry and overlooked that setup...

Has anyone lowered the middle and rear jacks a hole or two to prevent the full stroke condition on them. We put taller tires and changed out the suspension to a Morryde 4000 which raises the Rv a bit.

I have not had any "Out of Stroke" issues, even after installing the MorRyde SRE4000

As far as the "Return to Hitch" function, I learned at the Rally last year during Lipperts session, that the function only working if it must raise the RV to the hitch position, it will not lower the RV to the hitch position.

The Level Up will display a fault message if the RV is already higher than the hitch position when you press the buttons to return to hitch position.

Thank You Rob , , , that is exactly what needs to be done, the front will have to be lowered to set on the truck . . .

Mine faulted a few times when trying to return to hitch position, I thought it was something wrong with the Level Up or User Error 🙂

Then I found out at the Rally, that is the way it is supposed to work, guess they do not want it lowering onto a truck bed automatically when moving to hitch height 🙂
