New article just uploaded to the Technical Library regarding issues with the Tri-Glide.

Having driven down to San Diego on Saturday with Shane, and observed Terry's glide plate and kingpin hanging loose, it was all the visual proof I needed to confirm they have issues with this system.

Lippert is ridiculous about blaming the owner. We had stairs that were rusting. They told us that isn't possible. Really! We have rust. They told us we weren't do proper stair maintenance. 🙁

Our stairs are also rusting but that's not possible either!

So Terry, are you still having Tri-glide issues and if so are you stranded? I'm getting more and more nervous about heading back home with ours and then our 2200 mile trip this summer to attend the rally.

Still stationary in San Diego. Expecting new parts to arrive tomorrow from Lippert and have a local RV repair shop organized to swap out the failed Triglide. The gliding plate has some broken internal parts and now can be moved vertically as well as horizontally. I'm thankful we discovered it while in populated area rather than out on the highway crossing the desert.

Call Lippert if you feel your Triglide is making loud banging or grinding noises. The upper corners of our Glide plate are now so loose that they rub on the lower jaw structure, digging grooves the the plate.

BTW, Lippert has been very responsive.

My new lower jaw is coming tomorrow. A friend and I will make the swap. Looks like an easy job and will give me much more peace of mind.

I think it is quite possible when you are basking in the beautiful weather right on the ocean

That would be great... except we have been in the Midwest and then 8 months in Colorado. Very little ocean in sight. 🙂

George used a Rust proof paint for the steps and also for the "never going to rust" frame. (Which rusted in the 1st year)

I haven't driven too far with my new MorRyde pinbox, but it does feel more stable. Very little clanging during starts and stops because the TrailAir plate is moving. Still a little movement in the hitch, but much better.

Also very happy to not have to fool with the air bags as well as greasing it. The real tell will be when we leave Texas in a couple of weeks and put foot to get to Southern California, straight across the I-10.

One note though, I went with what I thought would yield a 24k GVW pin, but on mine the sticker says in a 5 bolt configuration it's rated at 21k GVW and in a 6 bolt config it's 24k. Mine attaches with 5 bolts. Still I'm very happy upgrading from 18k pin to a 21k pin.

Vaughan - is yours attached with 5 or 6 bolts?

I'm pretty sure Vaughan's is attached with 6 bolts the same as ours. Our Tri-Glide only had 5, but when Mor/ryde Techs changed ours they added the sixth bolt, now matching 24K KingPin with 24K Comfort Ride Hitch.

I can't remember exactly how many of us changed to MorRyde pinboxes at the Rally last year. I do remember the pickup was totally full for at least two trips when MorRyde went to the scrap yard with the Tri Glides.

When I swapped my tri glide for the flex air, I added bolts to each side to make a total of 12 ( 6 per side ).. I also LOST all feeling of banging and slop.. It was a great piece of mind for me.

I almost went with the FlexAir, but wanted to get away from the Air Bag. Never seemed to fail that I would forget to add air before moving and once on the road would see the entire length of the shock because of the low air pressure.
Now don't have to worry about anything, hookup and go.

Does anybody have a good MorRyde contact? Or should we just call in and talk to sales?

Sounds like most of you had them installed. You think it's something the could be installed personally?

I replaced mine with a buddy's help. Back the tailgate of your truck under the old hitch and drop it onto the tailgate. Reverse the process with the new one. A small floor jack on the tailgate helps a lot

Did you replace your Rotaflex with a Flexair or a Mor/Ryde?
