Flexair was a big improvement. Feels very solid. No banging or bumps when starting, accelerating, slowing or braking. No noises from the bed from the glide plate hitting the end stops. Smoother ride than the TriGlide. It is a definite improvement even from what I can remember of the Triglide when it was new.

The Roto-Flex is similar in design to the Mor/ryde. Where the Roto-Flex rocks back and forth on it's Rubber, the Mor/ryde slide back and forth on it Rubber. The nice thing about the Mor/ryde, the King Pin stays vertical, where the Roto-Flex actually tilts the King Pin forward and back. Sorry if that explaination is as plain as Mud.

Actually this is very clear. Thank you. Thinking we will probably keep this pin box and spend our "upgrade dollars" on one of the other many improvements. (disc brakes or different suspension)

We've had all three upgrades completed. However, if I was to chose one, disc brakes would definitely the first priority! Greatest safety improvement...and peace of mind!

Gregg,

The TriGlide had a few thousand miles on it... and by no means was it failing that I know of... It just felt sloppy... very sloppy. I was coming from a Fifth Airborne Pin Box on my SOB... It was to the point that when we would start or stop, my wife would hold an and say " here if comes"

If you can salvage the air bag and the shock off that unit I sent you, I think you would be in great shape..

How is everything on the Road ?

Everything is going great. Love, Love, Love the new Disc Brakes! Full-timing has been great with the exception of the things I've had to deal with. We're really looking forward to years ahead.

Hope you're doing well!

Okay all. We are travelling and I began to notice the hitch 'banging', something really hadn't heard before. Check out the video... is my Tri-Glide failing?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TogETL5r--k

I have sent this info to LCI, Troy Laymon and am waiting to here back. Not sure I should pull it down the road anymore?? Would you guys feel safe pulling it with this? Does your hitch do this?

That is exactly what mine was doing, even after lubeing ALL 9 zerks . . . I did not want to take a chance, and it was right after Rob's failure...

Thanks. Not sure if I should tow any further or not like this? Afraid it may fail. We'll see what LCI has to say.

I cannot answer that unfortunately... If you have time to kill, i would wait a bit before towing with it, but I am no expert..

Mine was much worse than that after 30,000 towing miles. it's when the glide plate starts to move up and down vertically then you are in danger of failure in my opinion. If you call Lippert and complain about the banging then they will most likely offer to send you a new lower jaw which converts the Triglide to an air ride. Avoid the stress of worrying about it and call Lippert now to get started on a new lower jaw. You can install it yourself.

Check out the article about the Triglide problem in the technical library of this ROG website.

Here is the Lippert tech who did an outstanding job to get us fixed and back on the road last month.

Thanks guys. Yes. It's here that I learned of the possible problem... thanks ROG! I called LCI this morning, Troy Layton, and sent him photos and video. Hopefully hear something back tomorrow. I'm just unsure if it's safe to tow like this? Unfortunately we're on the road at the Oregon Coast and are supposed to leave Wednesday.

I have a manual from Lippert showing how to change the lower jaw but I am unable to attach it to this thread. If you send me a regular email address by Private message I will attach it and return to you.

If you have a grease gun handy, I would pump grease into all nine (9) zerks until it was visable and see if that stiffens up the Glide.
Don't think it's broken, just getting worn and possible lack of grease. Some add grease every 1000 miles of so, but once worn it doesn't take long for the grease to work out and start banging again.

Thanks nw snowbirds. Very thoughtful. I hope not to have to do it myself, but have found that information with photos on the LCI website. Looks pretty straight forward. I think I read someone's post that did it and said the only thing was pretty heavy to maneuver around?

Yeah, I did that and thought it might help, but it didn't... still rocks back and forth easily.
