We are new to this and would like a recommendation for a tri pod to help stabilize our 42 foot 5th wheel.

From my experience if you have the Tri Glide hitch (with the air bags) you probably wouldn't notice any difference. I had one & have it away, I couldn't tell any benefit in the RW.
Had better luck adding Lynx Levelers under the jacks so they don't extend but 8-10", the further out they Are the more vibration we feel.

I have tried the pin stabilizers on other fvers and to me they are a waste of money. Go on line to steadyfast.stabilizer.com these are the best thing I have found. They take 95% of the movement out.

Love my Steadyfast Stabilizers, coach is solid even when the Washer / Dryer is running.

If you let the air out of the airbag on the pinbox, a tripod stabilizer works great.

Danny , question what if you bleed the air out of the bladder and put it in a rest mode and then put on the stand ?

That would probably work, but sounds like a lot extra steps. You must have a lot of bounce? Have you tried adding blocks under the jacks so they only extend 10-12"? I do that & have minimal movement.

I lowered my rear Jack's 2 bolt holes and has improved the stability plus I do not need any blocking under them

I have not done this but I would think you could lower the rear jacks as low as you want (within reason) since they (or at least ours) are located directly in front of and behind the rear tires. At least a few bolt holes. The only real concern would be a severe dip in the road.

There is not much one could do with the front jacks...

I have 10 inches of clearance under the Jack's now. The bumper will hit before they do
