Anyone have any suggestions for a good tire monitor system ?? Ive been looking at the tire minder A1A and the tire traker TT500 systems. Tire minder has a smart system out that works thru your Bluetooth cell phone. It is only available from camping world. You still have a booster and a receiver to deal with so it seems to me having to read it thru your cell phone is just a extra thing to have to mess with. I have had a system that is a TST I believe and it doesn't work well or hold up for the long haul. Any experience on any of these out there ??
I have been running the TST System for over 5 years.
Recently after 5 years of trouble free service I had a sensor failure and had to replace one.
I had the pressure pro system for a number of years on two former RV's and used it on the RW. When the sensors started to fail due to batery life (the batts were non user replaceable and the sensors had to be sent back to the factory) I went with the TST system. I bought the range extender (although I don't think I reaally need it). It works well. I found the initial programming a little tryng becuase you set all the parameters (pressure, low and high limits as well as temperature limits before the alarm goes off). I like the idea of the temperature alarm, it gives indication of tire (and probably bearing) issues.
I wouldn't be without the sensors, they have saved substantial problems over the years. One time a slow leak caused by a drywall screw was only obvious after the sensor warned of a tire problem.
I would take off the anti-theft feature on the TST's as it's a pain to get the sensors off if you have a duallie and have to top up the tire pressure.
I've had the TST system on all 10 tires now for just over 3 years & it has been trouble free, NO booster needed, easy to replace the batteries & as said above I took all the PITA anti theft doodads off. Have recommended them to several people.

I purchased the tire traker TT – 500 system at the rally for about $250 and it has been working great since acquiring it. It was very easy to set up and the monitor receives a strong signal from the sensors on the valve stem's. My friend has a different brand and his monitor had difficulty receiving a signal from the distance of the trailer tires. He had to purchase an additional amplifier for $50 and install in the front closet so that the signal is strong enough to be read in the truck. I do not have this problem. And the sensors that screw onto the valve stemS are quite small. The monitor senses and reads out tire temperature and tire pressure for each of the tires and has alarms if the setpoint drops below a setting which I have chosen. It also has an alarm for high temperature and an alarm for sudden loss of pressure. The system comes with a lifetime warranty. 🙂
I have the tire minder which does all the same and am very happy with it. It came with a booster that I installed in the battery compartment. Not sure of it was needed but it came with it so I used it. Has saved me 2 when my valve stems started leaking.I remove them and pull the battery's out of the sensors when back parked at home
Like Rob we've been using the TST 507 system for over 5 years trouble free. It has saved us twice from trouble on the road. Once while driving around the north rim of the Grand Canyon a lose valve stem lost pressure and we would have never known if we had not had TPMS. Like that I can replace batteries when needed. Wouldn't tow without them.
Thanks for the feedback on this. I found the booster for the TST 507 that I have had for years has a crack in it. Think its not working correctly. May be why I'm not getting a good signal from the sensors. I had these on another trailer before purchasing the 2014 Redwood 36FL. I will have to decide now to get a new booster or maybe go with the tire traker or tire minder system. Thanks again.
