I have not seen anything posted on this. So if there is sorry for the duplicate. What would cause my tires to wear on the inside part of the tires. I have checked my tire pressures they are all set at 110#. I am not over weight. Anyone have some wisdom on this issue. I am still running the stock GY G614 tires.

Thanks Mark

Axle alignment! Mine almost wore out 1 tire in 5-6k miles, they sent me to an alignment shop & found both axles out of alignment, until I upgraded to Hs the Gs wore slightly on inner/outer edges which normal due scrubbing in turns. The guys at the shop said it was normal for Lippert axle to be off once rv is loaded.

Mark,

When I was running the G-614’s I started with unusual tire wear on the inside. The inside part of the outer tread was wearing off. Kind of like a step down.

I hade several conversations with several tire people, and GY themselves. They ( GY ) sent me a picture of a very normal tire wear Called shoulder step and it matched mine exactly. They said it was fine, my DW was concerned so that is when we stepped up to the 17.5” G114’s.... and never looked back.

A simple check that you can do yourself: Find a good straight edge, like a 4' level and place it on the top of the axles, they should have a slight bow up in the middle, which it the normal. If you have lost that bow, you will wear the inside edges of both tires on an axle.

The 4th tire (Edge wear) in that chart (which is for auto tires) is what most rv tires will look like if wearing properly & not due to underinflation, but rather tires scrubbing during turns.
I agree with MHS, the alignment is achieved by bending the axles, it was scary watching the guy under mine with heavy chains & pneumatic jacks bending/aligning both castor & camber, but afterwards all 4 wore just like the #4 picture & still looked good with 50-60k miles when I upgraded to the Hs.

I had an abnormal tire wear problem on a previous 5th wheel RV that was still under warranty, the dealer sent me to a HD truck alignment shop. The shop put the RV on a laser alignment jig that did truck alignments and they bent the axles back into correct alignment using hydraulics. It took under an hour and I had no more issues. I've still got the business card of the shop "just in case"!
