I want to get rid of the Westlake Tires on a new Redwood and am trying to decide on H rated Goodyears or G rated Michelins. I like to drive and pull fast. We're new to 5th wheels.
I wasnt aware Michelin made a G rated tire in that size

Contact Ron aka Titan Guy on this forum & he can answer all your questions & has tire & wheel combo deals that are hard to beat, delivered to your door. I put his Sailun H 17.5 wheels & tires on this past fall, sold my old wheels & tires on Craigslist for a fair price & now have 6k+ on them & seem to be holding up nicely. After some investigation I found that a lot of trucking/hot shot companies use Sailun tires. Ron also has H rated Goodyears & can upgrade you to disc brakes when you're ready (best money I've spent).
BTW, Welcome to the RW family, hope you have many happy smiles!

Sailun X2. We still have the Westlakes with about 25,000 miles on them and performing well, but will replace with Sailun. You probably can't find a documented blowout on the Sailun.

When I was considering upgrading to the Hs I couldn't justify spending 50% more because they had "Goodyear" printed on them & after researching the Sailun there was no way I was spending the extra $$. Ron's deals on the Sailun tire/wheel combo was equivalent to/very little more than just replacing the GY 614s & upgraded to a much heavier tire. If your replacing tires anyway, my advise is to go up to the Hs & leave your tire worries behind.

Good decision to rid your rig of Westlake. I and several of my friends have found sidewall checks and bubbles in tires dated 4614, 4714, 1416, none had more than 12,000 miles, all had good tread and even wear. These were all G rated tires and kept at 110#'s psi. Most of us went with Goodyear 614. Time will tell.

Be careful with the Michelin’s. I believe they have the same speed rating as the Westlakes. And, JMHO, I wouldn’t go down in the weight rating.

I wasn’t either but they sho ‘nuff do: https://simpletire.com/michelin-215-75r17.5-19502-tires?stmodel=xze2&stcategory=other&sttype=commercial&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9OzH4NXt2gIVGMZkCh3JAwKhEAQYAiABEgJmJPD_BwE
This is not exactly on tires, but related. If there's a better place to post please let me know
We are having Sailun H's put on. I would like to have a compressor to help keep them in good shape, so would need at least 125 lb I think. Also want to be conscious of weight.
Any recommendations?

Wants to mention something to the OP. You made a comment that you're new to fifth wheels and like to drive and pull fast. Well - if that's the case, you'll want to upgrade more than just the tires for your safety, your family's safety and the safety of others.
If your rig has drum brakes, please get rid of them and have discs put on. The difference in stopping distance and power is night and day. The drum brakes are barely adequate at best. Also make sure you've got enough truck.
I can say without reservations that the $$$ we've spent on IS Suspension, Kodiak disc brakes, MorRyde pinbox, Airbags for suspension control, Comfort Ride Hitch, and swaybars for the truck have been a good choice. Our rig tracks like it isn't even back there and stops almost every bit as well as the truck alone. Nothing moves around in the coach and it is rock steady even in a 30-40 mph side wind.
As an aside, yesterday in Wyoming we had a rig blow past us that must have been running 75-80 mph. We both made the comment that he was pulling a Toy Hauler with an F250 and wondered how overweight he was. About five miles up the road, he's sitting on the side with most of the left side sheet metal on the coach behind the wheels wadded up and torn and the rear most tire totally blown and wrapped around the wheel. Some really good skid marks all over two lanes. Must have been a pretty wild ride in the truck. Family of 4 standing there .......
Changed out to G rated Sailun tires from Simple Tire. Paid $130 each delivered to my door in three days from order date. New date codes on all the tires. Rated 75 mph.
I've had my Sailuns for about 10k, and would buy them again in a minute. Simple Tire seems to be the way to go. I bought mine from Ron as the deal with the rims was too good to pass up.
