Trail Air - Air Valve
One of these might be helpful to fill the air bag...I've been to very few gas stations, truck stops and/or RV centers that have an air chuck that will fit the tight spacing.
You'll have to check around at the auto store or a motor-cycle center to get them.
Today, I changed my valve out...
Utilizing a local Ace Hardware store, I was able to find a 90 degree ell and a short nipple. Total cost for this was $8.78. I already had some Teflon tape handy.
This made it very easy to reach out and fill it will a normal truck chuck:
No more fighting this:
You will be glad you did that..... I had some parts left from my last fiver that I used.....and fabbed my own bracket...
I had to air up the donut after installing the new parts...It made it a piece of cake. I didn't even have to crawl up into the bed.
Yup, used some 1/4 pipe and added an pressure gauge. Really makes it easy to air up. Before the mod, I needed air and couldn't get the air hose on to the fitting at a truck stop.
I used some wooden spacers that I attached to the hitch using double faced tape so I didn't drill into the king pin.
Actually, all I used was 1/4 steel pipe from Home Depot, I reused the fitting at the end of the pipe. Nothing special.

All of these are great mods. Would really appreciate if you'd contribute them to the Owner Modifications. You can add them using the Resources/Contribute Modifications menu entry on the left.
Happy Redwood'ing

Isn't it funny that we can all think of little things like this, but it seems to be missed on the manufacturer roll-out day?
It would seem to behoove Redwood (much less all of the other manufacturers) to hold focus group sessions on a new product roll-out. Experienced RV'rs can easily spot simple things that go a long way toward credibility of a company that "technical experts" miss all the time.
I wonder if Redwood would be interested in holding such sessions? They could hold a "contest" and ask for submissions. (BTW... this would also give them a database of future or potential upcoming buyers as well). Then, selected winners could spend a week at the factory working "with" Redwood to input suggestions, corrections or new ideas. The winners would be subjected to a non-disclosure statement until the final product is released. The "winners" would also be indirect advertising marketers for the new product. Think of the overall marketing potential for a contest like this...REDWOOD PARTNERING WITH YOU! I wonder how many winners might also help support future RV shows??? (Can you see where this could go?)
The Grand prize? I'll leave that to your imaginations...
