Ok gentelmen, I am the poor sucker who had the bent axels this past summer. I researched the IS system and felt and now certainly feel it is the way to go. But being I didn't have the money, nor the time to go to have it installed I went with what I felt was the next best option. I upgraded graded to 8K axels and springs along with the CRE 3000 shackles and wet bolts. The H rated tires and wheels. I do not regret doing it. I absolutely love the secure feeling knowing my tires and axels are rated to handle the load. However,,,,, buyer be ware. You not done. I am now looking at adding shock absorbers to this package. The heavy axels and tire combination is a rough ride. Just making all know the other side of the issue.

Shocks will not help that. Shocks like a Bilstein could actually make it worse. Try dropping pressure in those H tires to match the actual load.

I installed the joy rider shocks last year and it does make a big difference. It took a lot of the up and movement out.

It has made the TV ride rougher. The RV is much rougher. Doors opening and recliner moved from place. Sofa moved. Don’t get me wrong I would do it again. Just need to adjust air pressure in tires some but not sure how much pressure or little pressure is safe without damaging the tires.
I am looking to install the joyrider system next.

If you think it is the up and down movement then I would agree, shocks will dampen the rebound, but you should be able to see that in your mirrors. The harshness of the ride from too stiff of suspension won't be helped by shocks - that might be helped by reducing air pressure.

I have a rooflex pin box. I know that is fairly simple. However, my previous truck prior to this one a 2012 Ram two wheel drive I had same pin box with a Airsafe hitch. That was a dream to tow with. But when I purchased this new RAM due to a change in Rams underbed B&W hitch set up I could no longer use the Curt x-5 adapter to use my Air hitch. I still feel the Airhitch is the greatest and smoothest of all hitches I have been privileged to use. I now have a B&W Hitch. I really like it but have lost the air hitch I so love. I do not have air bags on this truck as I did not feel I really needed them. The 8k axles and leafs are the only thing I changed that could have caused the stiffer ride. plus the tires which, Like you I was always taught to run all tires at Max air capacity for longer tire wear and reduced tire failure due to side wall flex and over heating. I do feel that the Joyrider may be my best option to Smooth it out some. Thanks for you response and the informative articles. As always I enjoy the conversations with you. As we think a lot alike. LOL!
