Hi Everyone,
I have concerns with the West Lake tires on my trailer. On my first real long time trip is when my concerns came about. I have a tire monitoring system on the truck and trailer. On the trip I had a high pressure alarm go off on one of the trailer tires. A high pressure alarm is set 20 psi higher then the pressure that I am running the tires. The temp that day was in the low 70's. I stopped and checked things out and no high temperatures were on the tires or the brakes. I used a infer red temperature gun. After getting to the camp ground I had a closer look at the high temp tire. I was small little cracks in places around the tire. I then looked at all the tires and saw the same little cracks on all 4 tires. The trailer has a build date of 05/22/2018. Right now I do not know the tire date yet. Does West Lake have any kind of warranty ? The trailer has a 2 year warranty. Does this fall under the Redwood warranty ? How would you resolve this problem ? Do I get a hold of Tim Cress for this problem ? I see this as a safety concern for everyone on the road. Would you trust these West Lake tires ?
Looking for advice,
Al
Upgrade to either GY or Sailun immediately, nothing less than G rated.
It's extremely doubtful you'll get anything from either RW or Westlake, but it'll cost nothing to ask.

Any tire troubles will not be a part of any warranty... I see that they switched to a different tire for the 2020 models... the standard 17.5 tire is a GoodRide.... never heard of them either...

Al - for issues with your tires, or anything else during the warranty period, you can call RW customer service or take the coach to a dealer.
Redwood have used Westlake tires since about mid 2014. When "G-rated" tires became standard they provided Goodyears for a few months then switched to Westlakes. We have heard of very few issues with Westlakes, unlike the "E-rated" Marathons installed from 2012-2014.
When we bought ours in April 2013, it had Marathons on it. But I noticed on the build sheet it specified Goodyear G614's, so I made the condition of sale for the dealer to acquire a set of 5 614's and wheels. Thank goodness.
We had the same Marathons on our 2013, but they were listed on the built sheet. Bought a set of 4 Goodyear G614's mounted on rims from a chap just outside Seattle. Just over 1 yr old and delivery mileage from the factory.
Cost me $800 and the dealer installed them for free before we picked up the coach. Sold the Marathons for $500.
