Looking for recommendations. I have read about the app: CoPilot for RV. Not cheap $40. Key advantage - detects height of underpasses. Has anyone used it?
Sorry....I use and trust the Rand McNally truckers map. I've never had too much luck with a GPS...Always leading me out of the way or I'm on roads that don't exist. I'd love to hear about one that actually works and that doesn't constantly spy on everything else in your phone or constantly tracking ever move you make.
My wf and I use the AllStays app which you can filter by height ant it will show all height restrictions that you have set. It is fantastic for fuel points, camp grounds by state park, independents, nat'l parks etc. also shows all rest stops, Walmart etc. it has a one time cost of $9.99,
Hope this might help you

We use the big screen Good Sam GPS, which uses Rand McNally software & maps. Back up is a Rand McNally map book.
Didn’t know that. We have that app. Thanks.
I use CoPilot. Aside from the bridge height (that I also confirm on AllStays), CoPilot takes me down only approved truck routes. For GPS trip planning, I start with Google Maps, verify with CoPilot. I like the app except it isn't very responsive on a touch screen when I want to see possible trip options. The price of the App is less than a new GPS. I also wanted something I could program at home, but then have when I travel.
