Just bought a Dish Playmaker satellite antenna. Can I plug the coax directly into the receptacle marked "Satellite" on the inside of the main storage area? I have a 36L model.

I don't know specifics on The "Playmaker" model but normally you would connect the dish to the receiver box and the receiver box to the TV.
Now, there are a variety of configurations available depending on where you set the box in relation to the antenna and TV.
Can you provide more specifics? In the meantime I'll review the Playmaker set up.
Firstly, welcome to the Redwood Owner's Group forum, as I noted this is your first post.
In the convenience centre, on the driver's side, you should have 2 satellite inputs and 1 for park cable. On the other side of the coach in the basement you probably have outlets for satellite and cable.
Connect your portable dish to the Sat 1 & Sat 2 inputs in the convenience centre. On the inside of our coach 36FL the satellite cables are orange and have numbered tags on them. Might need a signal generator to trace which cable is which.
Don't have any experience with Dish, but this is how I connected my portable Shaw dish before going with the roof top system.
Good luck getting it connected. Keep us posted on your progress.
If you did not buy the "kit" you'll need to get a receiver.
"Customers that DO NOT already have a compatible receiver (ViP 211, 411, or Wally) will want to purchase the Playmaker Bundle System."
Here is the instruction manual:
Now, connecting to the "Orange" cable satellite input...
You'll have a variety of ways to connect it to the RV.
Use the SAT IN port in the utility closet outside.
Here is the 2014 GK routing for our unit. There is a RL print here on the blog somewhere. And it may be in the Technical references.
Hope this helps but everyone seems to have variations when it comes to antenna connections. It would be sooooooo simple if Redwood built a manifold in the basement and labeled all wires...
You'll get aggravated looking for the splitters. They are located behind light fixtures and walls.
If you need help or additional suggestions, post them here.
Oriana,
Can you move this posting to the Communications/Technology section once answered?
Thanks very much for the quick replies. Yes, the instructions say to connect the antenna directly to the receiver and then to the TV. But then I have the issue of getting the coax into the RV. Since the receptacles in the basement (large storage compartment) say "Satellite", I thought it would be easy to connect the antenna there hoping that would go directly to the TV - or in this case to the receiver, then to the TV.
Connect coax from portable Dish to the Sat 1 & Sat 2 inputs in the Convenience Centre.
Inside the coach, locate the Sat Coax cables (probably orange coloured) and connect them to your receiver.
Connect the receiver to the telly, personally I prefer HDMI for this connection.
Not sure about the Dish system, but our Shaw PVR requires 2 satellite inputs to the receiver.
Some of the early 36RL only had a single Satellite input. On ours the cable was there but never terminated anywhere, as I pulled on the slack and ended up with the entire lenght in my hands with no fitting on the end, only a blunt cut.
You will need to trace the signal from the wet bay and see it it goes to a cable in the compartment above the TV or possibily a wall fitting behind the TV.
Seems RW doesn't do a good job wiring up units the same. Happy Hunting
Just did.

Thanks to all for the drawings, personal experiences and help in general. Now time to get my flashlight, screw driver and a little courage and go to work!
