We have the MyRV control system in our 38RL and generally really like it. The main control pad is a 7" tablet with a docking station plugged into the control board via USB cable.

Last week I got up and the tablet would not respond. Took it and the cable and plugged into my laptop, still nothing, so determined my tablet went bad.

I called Lippert and told them what I had found and they agreed. I asked if I could go to Walmart and buy a 7" Android tablet for about $50 and download the MyRV software - the answer was "No, you have to use the Lippert tablet". Well, I needed one, so they transferred me to parts department and were happy to fulfill my order. $445 plus shipping!!! Didn't know what other option I had, so went ahead with the order. Plugged the tablet in and it works fine. But $445??? So for others, that's what you're looking at if the tablet goes bad.

Yup agree. it would be reasonable for them to provide a non-automated backup/alternate way of operating the critical components of the coach should the pad or automation go bad.

Hmmm...............that's starting to make a few manual switches look pretty cost effective and reliable..........just say'in.

Dealer tried to talk us into that system when we ordered our '16 MB, but we stayed fully manual for control of things. I would rather just flip a switch to turn on my lights, than find where I left the tablet or go to one of the installed touch pads. Guess we're just "Old School".

I use my Android phone with the Onecontrol app. Our tablet has not been powered up or out of the docking station for months. We did need to have the router replaced recently. Used the extended warranty because the new router was about $500 from LCI.

Wow, I didn't even think of using my extended warranty as I've never used it - just fixed the few minor things myself. Wonder if I could use it after the fact?
We also leave the tablet it the docking station (located in the entry way pantry) and use either the wall pads or my phone for controls. Main thing we used the tablet for is awnings and gas water heater, and glance at the tank monitors. The system still worked even though the tablet was dead. I guess I'm one who just like things to work.
