I am beginning to investigate a satillite subscription for the wynnguard mission dome on the roof
This item came with the rv when i bought it and i am not familiar with this technology i always had cable hookups.
wynngard sticker says set up for direct tv but book says switches in dome can be changed and it will work with dish or bell networks.
wasnt really wanting a 2 year contract with direct but like dish month to month billing
who likes or dislikes the services and is one better in costs or coverage than the other?
lots to learn about this

I have direct and like it. I have never had dish so can't comment on it. Reading all the different posts on both I think they are about a 50 50 split
I had the earlier version of that one - served us well for 6 years.
It is selectable for Dish, Direct, Bell by flipping some dipswitches inside the dome. It should be noted in the specs Tech Specs RoadTrip Mission that you receive both high def and standard def with Dish and Bell, but DirecTV will only get you standard def due to the technology required through a single LNB.
The design of these require the dish to move whenever the primary TV selects a channel on a different satellite. The 2nd TV just has to tag along and settle for a channel on the same satellite as the primary TV, but you can watch different channels on each TV. On Dish, it receives 3 satellites, so you will hear it whir up there every once in a while when you change channels.
The domes are real vulnerable to rain, as the film of water kills the reception. You can get some products that will prevent the film forming, but I never tried them. I either went on the roof and wiped it down, or waited for it to dry. My black never took long to dry.
Dish or Direct - 🙂 They both suck and cost about the same. I've had dish for over 20 years.
I have Dish and like their service, like others said, both have pluses and minuses
