Ok - need the help of you "techie " individuals. We have MIFI in the coach with a cell signal booster and also have a wifi signal booster, both of which work well.
We have a Roku and like it a lot. My question is does anyone know of a good app for live tv ? We tried HuLu and discovered that as soon as you move and it senses a zip code change it locks you out of live channels such as NBC, CBS, FOX, ETC. Are there any of the others like Sling, etc that may offer it ?
On a different question, if we can't go with Internet, we're considering satellite with a dish system and a tailgater antenna. I know the roof mounted Winegard would be better but not in budget. If any of you have this setup, I'd like some recommendations. The new King Tailgater Pro looks pretty good and having the option of taking it down and putting on a tripod would add versatility.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi Vaughan,
Not sure I can be a lot of help, but here goes:
We use Dish with the installed Winegard roof antenna and it works very well for us. In our Montana we had a portable Winegard that advertised two hookups for two TVs, and never got it to work with two. Nor could Dish or a mobile installer. The box would search and set up for the first TV, and would lock up during the second box setup. To do it again, I would go with a less expensive portable single TV antenna and just change the cable from the living room to bedroom depending where we were watching.
We have resigned ourselves to the reality that internet cannot be relied on for streaming, at least not yet. Our Verizon Mifi slows down after a certain amount of data use. Park WiFi, even at the best places, slows way down as the park fills up. Satellite internet is still cost and speed prohibitive. Curious about this new Airborne WiFi but don’t know anything about it. Would be nice if Elon Musk would launch a satellite over the US for internet.
We are looking into an Xfinity account. They serve our area in Florida so we could be hardwired in while here, and they have a community WiFi available to account holders everywhere else they serve.
A few times we have been under trees that prevented satellite and there were no over-the-air stations. That’s when we break out the Seinfeld or Office DVDs and get our laughs again if we want to watch something.
