What a day , trying to tidy up before surgery tomorrow and the wind is just crazy today. I think this is the highest wind since we have been full timing 94mph. March has been crazy in the Texas panhandle. The first 3 days we had our high of the year 75 on the first and then the low for the year on the third 6. With wind chills in the negative 30’s. Now we have the wind , not a good month to set all kinds of records

Where in the panhandle?
We grew up in Dumas, about 50 miles north of Amarillo & our daughter is still there, we told her that we will visit in the fall when the weather is more stable, this time of year is especially brutal.

I know what you are talking about! We are in Odessa and had high winds for the last two days. On top of that we had some "fun", a wheel fell off the Redwood on the interstate, got it fixed (new brake assembly and wheel hub), the tire is toast, running on the spare. Need to find a replacement tire in east Texas.

Been there numerous times when our son lived west of there in Bushland. Nothing out there to slow the winds but a few barbed wire fences & if it's out of the south or west that wonderful feedlot eau de parfume.
Now when people ask about the panhandle I respond that it's ALWAYS too something, too hot, too cold, too windy, too many storms & very seldom too nice.
Have you ever stayed at the Ft Amarillo rv park a couple miles east of the Oasis? We started staying there & found the winds weren't quite as brutal with the trees around & less wide open spaces. The spaces aren't as large but we still had room to park the RW & the wide a## truck, plus this time of year you won't be spending leisure time outdoors anyway.
