Thanks again for all the help this site is awesome, great people. Have a electric/gas WH left town shutoff switch came back no hot water with electric on and dsi flt lite on, not sure if it's the element or can I reset something. BREAKER ON AND WE HAVE GAS SEW
There's 2 reset button on the water heater at the black cover, try those. If not turn off all power to the water heater, remove the black cover & check the the wires to both thermostats, one 12 volt & one 120 volt, have not been shorted against the tank. Mine & a fellow RWer had that happen the same day, had to replace both tstats & spade connectors on both sets of wires. I trimmed the back of the cover a 1/4" & folded the metal down wire the wires came up.
If there was no water in the tank then the element is burnt up as well.

Electric element should read about 8-10 ohms out of the circuit if still good.
I've had the issues with the shorted wire and cooked 110v thermostat. Other thing to check is the switch on the bottom left of the WH, ours was cooked and no 110v power got to the element.
Final comment, I get a DSI alarm on the panel when I first turn on the heater to gas, it takes 10 or 20 seconds for the gas pilot to fire then the DSI light goes out.
I had to replace the high limit thermostat and the temperature control switch (comes and sold as one unit)

Our water was only lukewarm at best and found one of the wiring connectors blackened at the spade connector. We were in Mesa AZ and found the assemble at the local Robert Crist RV, replaced and all was well.
Little black rocker switch was our gremlin. Switch should evidence if heat at the spade connectors and the switch only worked sometimes. Found when testing for continuity.
