We just purchased our new Rewood 3901 WB June 15th and are supposed to take delivery on June 28th. Slow because my wife is having surgery and will be down until then. I have red a couple of posts about the first trips out and it seems a little scary. I have been RVing for over 30 years but some of these stories are not what I expected or wanted to hear. Anyone have a good experience on their maiden voyage with their new Redwood?
Thanks!

As with most forums for any make, model, or price rv you'll get mostly complaints to which there are 100s maybe 1000s that don't post what a great rv it is.
That said our '13 went from the end of Nov '12 to Aug '13 before any warranty items were needed to be taken care of & had them done at the factory prior to the '13 rally, so very pleased with the unit.
If you've got 30 years of rv experience then you know anything can happen at any time so don't worry about what someone else may have had happen, just load'er up & go have fun, when/if it breaks, fix it.

We are on our 2nd Redwood and have had 2 great first trips !

When we had our " 16" we had very little to no issues the entire time we owned it, it was by far the best camper we had ever owned..

When the "16" was destroyed by a tree, we then took delivery of a 2020 and really like that as well.. Our 1st trip out was a geed one with 1 issue that I still think was caused by us..

Like Danny stated, you will mostly hear people complain and vent online, they feel they are being heard... MOST will not go out of their way to praise something for working as advertised..

Factor in just how many of these are sold a year, and figure out the percentage of issues, that number will be low..

Congratulations on your purchase, Good Luck with it, and we cannot wait to see pictures....

Our first trip was over 6 years ago, but don't recall any issues.

Thanks for your reply. This is reassuring to hear and it is what I expected. I am certain it will be a great RV. My wife and I are very exited to take delivery and a short trip immediately afterwards.

I am certain that it will be a great RV. I have research the construction technique used in them and it seems superior to most of the others. Thank you for replying!

My wife and I took our new Redwood 3901 WB out for the first tie this weekend and everything went pretty well. The only issue was one that I believe has to do with the in command system. Zone 1 on the AlC will not tell the room temp, but it cooled very well. When I shut the A/C down,Zone continued run the fan. Of course the fan ks set to auto and the vent is off and closed. I cycled thru all 3 zones turning them on and back off a couple of times and it finally shut down. All in all it was a good trip. Anyone have any suggestion about the in command system. Also neither the dealer or myself could make it pair to my iPhone X.

Try to do a hard reset to the computer....

Disconnect from shore power AND disconnect the batteries- leave like that for 20 seconds and hook it all back up.. That will do a reset on the computer...
I had n issue on my first trip with the in-command system as well..I did the steps above and all was good after.

I did what you suggested except that I just turned the battery disconnect switch off. Will disconnecting the batteries be different from turning the switch off? I will try disconnecting the batteries. I need to do that anyway because on the in command panel it shows the battery 2 has no voltage. I thought it might not be connected properly.

Thanks for your advice!

The factory disconnect does not totally disconnect the 12 volt system, the only way to do so is disconnect the main ground from the battery.
There's a whole list of items that the factory disconnect does not affect & I'm not sure about the In Command system.

I understand. I didn’t do this. I will try it and see what happens. The panel is showing battery 2 has no voltage so while I am in there I will be checking all of the connections. Hopefully I can correct this at the same time. Thanks for your help!

In terms of maiden voyages it helps a lot if your dealer gives you a good walk through of all the systems in the Redwood, our dealer was great and I learned about a few systems that I didn't know about although I've been RVing for decades!

The young man that gave us our walk they tried but the fact is that he simply didn’t know the product. I have also been rving for decades but every RV has its own functions. Thank goodness for forums like this one to help a new guy out. Thanks for your help!

When I picked up my 2020 the money guy was walking us to the service department for our PDI, he asked if we ever had a Fifth Wheel before. I stated that we had a 2016 Redwood and he said "ok, you will probably know more than the guys giving the PDI"... SAD..
