First and for most let me apologies for the outage yesterday. During the planned transition of the development/beta redwoodrvowners.com site to the production redwoodrvowners.com URL both me and our ISP inadvertently broke things. The root of the problem was related to the SSL security certificates that we are using. This is what caused the 4-6 hour outage yesterday. I commend and thank our ISP for resolving the situation as quickly as they did!

Of course this was not our intention and we will work to avoid a similar event in the future. We now have a new (better) plan how to do the transition and maintain the high level of security we desire.

Let me bring you up to date. As of the writing of this post, the "legacy" site is still up and running with the redwoodrvowners.com URL but is not accept any new posts or member sign ups. Shortly I will change the landing page and direct everyone to the redwoodrvowners.com site.

We have seen a large adoption of this, the new site, and I would personally like to welcome everyone who has signed up. I believe even more now, how much this new platform has to offer us as we grow as a community.

Over the next few days the transition will continue with the ultimate goal of making this the production site and moving the old site into archive/search only mode. Because we are changing website platforms, service provides and domain names, you may experience some down time and perhaps a few redirects. Not much I can do about that other than to ask for your patients and understanding. The good news is we only have to do this once :).

Stay calm and ROG on!
