I have for some time considered purchasing some steps which would be more stable than the stock fold out steps which my wife could not open. At least very easily. i seen the MORryde steps at the Houston RV show. Was impressed enough to order some. I installed them today. Very simple to install. I must admit when it came time to have to notch the fake wood trim on either side of the door for the latch I was taken back. When I attached the screws to the floor. ARRRRGGH.... But they are now installed. And they certainly are much more steady than the stock fold out that comes on the RW.

They look great...

I went up and down a bunch at the last RV show and was really impressed. I just replaced my stock steps with the new LTI Aluminum step and like those.
Now the task is to convince my wife these are much better

I looked at those as well but it looks like you have to take them off each time you travel. How heavy are they and where would you store them?

Greg ,

You DO NOT have to remove them, that's the beauty. They fold UP INTO the door frame of the RV and are very light and easy to fold. We saw them at the last RV show, and I had DW fold them up and down, she loved them !m But since we just upgraded our steps, I will wait till these go bad before swapping to these MORryde steps..

We looked at a few that were installed at the rally last year and looked very nice but just couldn't be sold on the latching mechanism in the up position. The latch took a little shaking to latch and release but maybe only the one I looked at but all I could think of was a major headache if not watching when I opened the door.? Either way I decided to get the normal aluminum replacements at the show and for now am happy.

What happens at a site when you have a high pad or at a rest stop where you don't have the room between vehicles to put them down?

With the current steps I have I compensate with only lowering 3 steps. Can you still do that?

Ken, i am not going to say that I will never have such a situation. That is possible. I have to now make sure of how I back it in my garage made for the RW. If I don't back it in right then the distance is a issue. For the most part I cannot think of very many times at a truck stop or a rest stop whee I would have a problem. As for how it folds up in the door. I guess it could come unlatched. again that may be possible. But the way it stands up and leans in I am not as worried about that. I will let you guys know as I tow over the next few weeks and cover a lot of rough roads. I will test it out.
