What do you use to really clean the cap?
As a full timer pulling 20k miles a year+, I do my best to keep clean but just not good enough. This is my slow time of the year so I am parked in Del Rio, Tx for at least a month and washed Pequod today but need to really clean and wax the front cap.

I use Simple Green concentrate, mixed on the strong side in a 1 gallon pump up sprayer, saturate the front & let set for a few minutes & generally wash off fairly easy with a medium soft bristle brush & a bit of scrubbing, if not repeat. If they were love bugs & not cleaned immediately, then a paint job or blow torch may be necessary.

I assume you wax it after you use the Simple Green.

Rain-ex works really well to keep bugs from sticking. Get your self washed at a Blue Beacon and have them add the simple green spray. It has made it much easier to clean off the bugs.

Yes the front cap gets cleaned/waxed regularly, more often than the rest of the rig.

I have found that keeping a very good coat of wax on the cap helps to remove the critters easier.. i started carrying a soft bristle brush on my trips, when i stop for the day i spray the cap and run the brush over it. Doing it that way, I am amlonst bug free !! The secret is not to let them bake on

I spray the cap with black streak remover, use the dry wash brush (long handle), rub the critters, then wet brush, wash front cap as usual, and most off them will come off easy. I do this in the cool part of the day (like early morning).Rewash with RV/Boat wash and wax.

Have used the love bug eraser (about 45 bucks), Pam (what a mess), and other including the Bounce dryer sheets and like this the best. MRYMBD

I have been using this product for several years and it works great. I can put a coat of wax on my 36RE in less than an hour. Because it's relatively easy, I usually do it at least once a month which keeps the rig looking great and makes the bug removal pretty easy. If you buy the Starter kit $229.00 it come with a soft scour pad that fits on the cleaning/waxing head and works great even on Love Bugs. The beauty of this stuff is if the rig is not real dirty you can clean and wax at the same time. The pads are washable and reusable. I have been real happy with it.

I recommend the kit because the extendable pole that come with it is the easiest one I have ever used.

I bought this same kit at the Redwood Rally last summer.
I hesitated because of the cost but it is a great product that is made well, easy to use, works great and does a excellent job removing bugs and routine cleaning.
I use it regularly and have been very pleased with the results.

I too use the washwax all. It was originally developed for aircraft (wings kill a BUNCH of bugs when your're down low) and there was a need for a waterless product as you usually don't have water at the hangars.

Started using it on my vehicles 10 years ago. As said by everyone else ~ works like a champ and quick and easy.

Here is another wash-wax-all user here...

Word of advise using the black streak remover... it WILL remove any and all wax along with the bugs...

In the spring I use a real good coat of paste wax, then use wash-wax-all before every trip

use bounce fabric softener sheet, wet the front then I put 2 bounce sheets on a telescoping swifter pad and use on the front cap. it is the best thing I have found. then wash immediately after doing this.
