The wind has finally taken it's toll on the topper over the curbside slide, the holes where it was stitched are now acting like a "tear here" perforation & most all if the thread in the stitches has deteriorated. Just wondering if anyone has a good replacement fabric material & manufacturer that you can recommend, Ive found a couple on the internet that sound good, just need some feedback. It looks to be a fairly simple job for a couple people on ladders, but dont want to do it again in another 3 years if possible.

Danny,

We don't have them, but if you are looking for a serious fabric you might want to investigate the material they use for making sails.

They use a polyester fabric with the trade name Dacron.

Any marine sailmaker should have access to the product and experience to use it.

Thanks Andy! May be fall before I get to them & by then we'll be in Arizona, not many sail makers there, but I'll check into it.

We put the Sunpro replacement toppers on our rig after a major hailstorm. Been on there for over 18 months now and holding up well.
Came with 5 year replacement guarantee. Takes two people about 30 min per slide to install as DIY.
Seams are welded, not sewn.
We are full time and the toppers are only closed as we roll.
Good product. Check them out. You'll save a few dollars too.
Good luck.

Wish we could make it to the rally, but on the opposite side of the country.
Thanks for the info.

Danny,
I was waxing my unit yesterday and found two tears in my slide toppers. The tears were where they put the screws in the spline to keep them from sliding. Now trying to get warranty repair while I am at rally. Not having a whole lot of luck right now. Guess I will have to keep on them.

My son & I removed the fabric today as once the rotten thread started coming loose it was like a zipper, will report back later when we are somewhere long enough to order the replacement fabric. Looks like Sunpro (Thanks George!) is where I'll order it, theirs aren't sewn, but "welded" as they call it.
