Now that we're living in the coach we're finding we really don't like the stock steps. Too flimsy and bouncy.

Question - I know the MorRyde steps are good, but I'm not wild about having them swing up inside the coach and I'm also thinking they can be a pain while traveling. I'll do them if needed but not my first choice.

Anyone using any kind of upgraded , sturdy, folding steps that fit the well ? If so, what are they and do you like them ?

Have you considered stairs like these?

Steel Works is in Henderson, Nevada if you want to stop there.

There are other companies that make these portable stairs and decks...

Have a look around the web...Sunrise Decks is another "portable" deck. Both of these sites will have videos showing assembly and disassembly. Sunrise is made in Heath, Texas (East of Dallas if you are in the area).

All those stairs look great Gip, EXCEPT I would not want to have to stow them when it is time to move.. If a Camper was to be used as a permie, That's the first thing I would change!

I wouldn't want to use them for short hops but when staying longer than a month, these would be great. Per the videos, setup is about 10-15 minutes. Storage on the one is pretty good. The other would probably have to ride in the back of the pickup. On short hops, we'll stay with the stairs installed (although we have considered the aluminum and/or electric steps).

I was on the MorRyde website last night and discovered they also offer their steps as a removable option. Same steps only you mount two brackets under the entry door and they just clip on and off. Stow in the basement or truck bed when you travel. Think this is the way I'm going.

Vaughan , What do they weigh? Not concerned about the TV ,concerned that your not getting any younger ( in a polite way) ,, what happens if Tracy needs to stow the steps ?

If I remember correctly, the MORryde steps were build very well, which means they will have some beef to them????

When I went on the MorRyde plant tour during the rally, they indicated that there was a new set of steps (they were on display) that have some sort of mechanism that makes lowering and lifting easier, still OEM but will probably be available for aftermarket in the future. I would suggest that you ask about them.

Do you know how much weight you are having to pick up each time you put them away?

Vaughn
We purchased the Lippert steps at the rally and are happy with them, much lighter than the originls.like Steve said I use 2 of the metal adjustable supports under the bottom step and they work great. Also have a magnetic motion detector led light beside the orange one in the step box which really illuminates the silver steps at night when you walk up.

Check out the Glow Step from Torklift. I saw these installed on a Redwood at the Tampa RV show. I was impressed. You can see them on the website at http://www.torklift.com/index.php/products/steps-handrails/glowstep-revolution

I love my MORryde steps. We got them at the rally this year.

We met another Redwood owner in Colorado. They generally spend at least 1 to 2 months when they stop. When they stop for a couple months, he purchases wood and builds a quick landing and steps. He leaves them at the campground when he moves on. After building them several times, he said it "takes no time". It isn't a good solution for us, but it seems to be working for them.

Fortunately, we were lucky enough to win the MORyde steps at the Rally. We absolutely love ours. Those who have seen them have been impressed as well. So easy to adjust to the level of the ground. And very sturdy
