We had that problem with our SOB.... We finally purchased 2 sets of those " Slide Slickers"... THEY WORK..... We never had another stain once we started using them..
You will have to clean them after every year or so , or the dirt will transfer to the carpet at some time...
So far , so good with the RW
You could try laying down pieces of high pressure laminate (stuff on cheaper counter tops). Get a couple of pieces 6"-8" wide by 4' and lay them down where the slide stains the carpet. I would tape them down in the middle part of the camper as not interfere with the slide. This stuff is very thin (less than 1/16") and smooth. I think this would work well.

Gipc go on the Lippert site and they have the plastic sliders very cheap that sit on the carpet under the slide. They have the little knobsb that dig into the carpet so they won't move when retracting
That is what we used... Slide stickers .. They are made by Lippert and do work...

The Slide Slickers do work, but at $45+ I wouldn't exactly call them cheap, but that's cause they have "LCI" embossed on them & they're for a rv.

Not sure of the material on Lipperts Slide slickers, but what about an inexpensive chair mat for carpeted floors ( not really cheap either )? You could purchase the kind for carpeted floors, that kind has the nubs on the bottom to keep from moving around, then cut to desired size with minor tools ( stanley knife, borrowed table saw or jig saw ) Might even need to wax or coat with something to help with the weight of the slide out gliding across them. You would get many out of just one chair mat. If I had this problem I would try it for myself.
