 Has anyone had trouble with their ceiling fan hitting the slides in the 36RL model?
My 5er was used when I bought it in June 2016. It is a 2012 36RL and has a 5 bladed fan installed.
All was OK until I cleaned and tightened the blades of the fan. Since that time, I have broken two of the blades while closing the shore side slide. Does anyone else have a 5 bladed fan? I have looked at many videos, promoting the 36RL and all of them have a 4 bladed fan in them. I wonder if the previous owner changed the fan for some reason... I will go back to a 4 bladed fan if necessary. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
That will teach you to clean it... :-).
Mine is a 4 blade model and does not hit, but it's not dirty yet either.... Seriously, i would close it up while standing back there with a step ladder. Once the slides are in, go up and spin the blades to see what kind of clearance you have if any... I do know that mine is mounted crooked, the one side is about 1" lower and it is still clear

Ours works best at the slowest speed. Would work even better if it had a rheostat.
Ours works best on low. You could always put some led,s on it to add the glitz and glitter to the room if not using it. Also looks like a great place to hang the mistletoe
My fan never moved much air so we just replaced it.

My 2013 36RL has the original fan which is a four blade fan. Never had an issue with the blades. If blade length is the problem the blades could be replaced with shorter blades very easily. If blade pitch is the culprit then a RW replacement fan from Tiara RV could be a solution.
